Reacher series 4.

Let’s be honest, it’s trash. But I love it lol.

9 out of 10 corny one-liners, would watch Adam Ritchson punch people in the face for 8 hours again.

Yeah. I enjoyed it, but the first season is by far the best so far in my opinion (although I do hate those flashbacks.)

Watching Brokenwood Mysteries. Have you noticed how small, peaceful places like Brokenwood, or Midsomer has so many gruesome murders? And another thing, though they are small places, you won’t see the same faces twice. Creepy

This was really good.

Its only 7 episodes, but is weighty enough that I think you have to take your time with it rather than do a proper binge. I never got through more than 2 episodes in a row without wanting to take a break and watching something lighter in between, but that is definitely not meant as a criticism.

The creative team behind this are the ones who have been given the reins to redo Lonesome Dove and whatever apprehension I had about that is now LONG gone after watching this.

Yeah, totally agree, kept wanting a break from the anguish.
I need a Mr Lee in my life though!

Hoon Lee was wonderful.

I read the novel when I was 18, so memory of it is vague, really limited to the Cain and Abel aspect. That may also be influenced by the movie. Very tempted to reread it and other Steinbeck to see what I missed in my teens.

Oh FFS, I mistook this for the David Simon/John Bernthal spiritual successor to the wire about how fucked Baltimore Police is.

I have no idea what This City is Ours even is

Just finished binge watching the entire four seasons of **The Mayor of Kingstown (10 days), fifth is released in Jan 27.
I’ve watched plenty of TV over the years, and I can honestly admit, this series is the first time ever, I have had to take a break and step away halfway through to prevent becoming frazzled completely (but in a good way though). Talk about being brutal, it is absolutely savage in both the storyline, and the unexpected lengths taken to enforce this keeps pace with the whole atmospheric backdrop throughout each episode and season.
If I had a choice to re-watch this again asap once the tension finally leaves my body, or have a chance re-watch The Wire, (I feel some betrayal saying this) TMOK would take the mantle.!

Just watched a short clip on the manufacture of cowboy hats.
Included in the clip was a rodeo.
Fucking barbaric

Having a bit of a lull in terms of my enjoyment of tv shows of late.

Ted Lasso S4 - Not terrible, but just didn’t get near the heights of what came before. Crap romance plots and a nonsensical, easy to spot villain twist.

Slow Horses S6 - Still hit all the comedic beats but having two terminator like Russian assassins defying the laws of anything and everything was a bit naff. Also the ā€œsafe houseā€ in the last couple of episodes was laughable.

Celebrity Traitors S2 - Not hitting the same heights as the last one did with some really poor faithfuls and not very interesting traitors. The tasks are consistently crap as well.

I don’t get who the audience is for Tracey Ulman in the 2020s? She is a scene chewing hack who performs anti comedy. It’s got the shape of a joke just done in a way that removes whatever humour might have already been in any situation she’s in
