Yeah, i liked that but then it made think of one of my favourite Chevy Chase scenes

FUCK YES
They are calling it Legacy of Spies but it appears to be primarily adapting The Spy Who Came in from the Cold so not sure what that means for the scope of what they intend doing (the actual Legacy of Spies, a sequel to TSPWHCINFTC, is set 50 years or so later) or how many of the Smiley books they intend to do

A well made Le Carre adaption is always a thing to look forward to
I started doing it to simplify it and then about 12 letters in I started doubting my decision
I respect not giving up and deleting it though. A man of conviction
Started watching King of the Hill as I tend to only watch mellow background stuff these days and I know Futurama, the Simpsons (the good seasons), and Bobās Burgers inside out.
As a kid I never got King of the Hill, but it is quality. Hopefully it holds up throughout the run.
On a separate note the last TV show to actually grab my attention and hold it was Frieren. Another one that started off as a background watch for me, but I found myself genuinely enjoying it. Much better than I expected going into it and one that grows very well. I know not a lot on here go for anime/very sporadically do, but I recommend giving it a chance and letting it play. Might not necessarily grab you instantly but I bet youāll be invested by the end
This sounds like my sonās Anime recommendations. Heāll typically be on volume 135 of the Manga, but they have only animated the first 900 chapters. āIt gets really good after episode 230, but you need to see it from the start to know the characters.ā
Thereās quite a few long term ones like that apparently, Iāve not watched any of them ![]()
Thereās only one season of Frieren out and itās about 25-30 episodes in total. Not quite as big an investment as something like one piece ![]()
Itās on Netflix, so I have put it on my list of things to watch when I get a chance.
I was looking for something yesterday light and easy to have in the background while I put together some furniture. I tried Laid, a story about a woman who finds out all the men sheās slept with are dying and in the order she slept with them. It will probably annoy a lot of people but I found it properly laugh out loud funny
Ziggy Sobotka has reportedly died by suicide ![]()
This week iām having an apple run - have started watching Pluribus, the last frontier and cemetary road.
First two, iāll probably complete this week. The latter will probably take a bit longer - itās feeling a bit cheesier than slow horses but iāve only seen the first episode.
Also been watching the Charlie Brown cartoons with my daughter!
Happy to see Shrinking and Monarch have confirmed dates for new seasons and Bad Monkey season 2 is being filmed now!
Am now watching first episode of Fallout season 2. As a big fan of the game, i loved the episodeās early easter egg.
Really wanted to watch season 3 of dark winds but have to wait for all the episodes to come out first or suffer the wrath of my wife who hates having to wait for each episode to release ![]()
Frieren may be next on my radar. I am catching up on season 3 of Spy x Family. The facial expression of Anya Forger is as fantastic as ever. Love it!
Started Slow Horses. Well made, well written, well acted.
Will say I have done a decent job of guessing whatās been going to happen; itās yet to leave me guessing whatās coming next.
Iām halfway through season 2 before anyone drops a spoiler
Yeah. First couple of episodes I was carried through by the excitement of another Herron adaptation, but it was ultimately a bit blah. By the end I was watching just get it finished and doing a lot of second screening while doing so.
*Netflix briefly crashed right as the final season of STRANGER THINGS premiered, with thousands of viewers hitting errors the moment they pressed play. *
The issue was fixed shortly after, but it perfectly shows how huge the demand still is. Nearly a decade after it first premiered, Stranger Things is still powerful enough to shake Netflix on release night, proving just how massive the hype is for the showās final chapter
Had no problem bingewatching the 3 new episodes last night.
Canāt wait for the 2hour finale on New Yearās Eve.
Just re-watched Independence Day. I remember watching it in the theatre in New York when I was an undergrad and we all stood in clapped at the president speech., Those were more innocent times werenāt they. Still an enjoyable movie if you set your mind back to how the world was pre 9/11. Hope we can get back to something like that one day.
It feels like more TV is being made than ever, but less that really grabs me that I feel I need to watch. This interesting stat from a recent analysis by Bloomberg probably speaks to that - when there is so much available we gravitate to what is familiar, even if its S5 of once interesting show now running on fumes.
Caveat - for technicalities that dont really make sense, HBO shows dont count as streaming originals, only the HBOMax specific ones that are only available on the streaming service.
Maybe this is also a reflection of where we watch our tv? Just this afternoon i saw a headline on a social feed that Pluribus was Appleās most watched show?
Just finished S3 of Blue Lights.
Very disappointed after really enjoying the first two seasons. Something went wrong with the writing. Too melodramatic and unrealistic. The characters are still good, and thereās some good acting, but let down by a preposterous script.
