The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Whippersnapper.

We’re going to get told off (probably by me) for going off topic.

It would be a foolish decision to sell him, unless the player is demanding an out. This year, while Mbappe has individually had a productive season (he has a chance to end it as the best goal scoring season for a player in their first year at the club*), it has been a destabilizing addition. It is not just the positioning dilemma among him, Vini and Jude, but he is a second player who needs to be carried defensively.

The work Rodrigo has done to cover that work rate, in both phases, and balance when they do have it, is laudable. If he were to come you could see him very easily see him competing for games as the central striker the way we’ve used Diaz a lot.

.* I’d be surprised if people could guess the player who holds that record

As @redfanman said, I was being a bit ironic. The link isn’t to us buying an RB but is to RM supposedly being interested in an RB from Real Sociedad. So, jokingly I wondered if that meant that Trent to RM is off. I doubt if it is, and the link to the Sociedad palyer is probably just bollocks.

With as held together by used chewing gum and sellotape as Carvajal was, Real really need to consider themselves as having no RBs to go into next season with. They have got by for 2 seasons before this by backing him up with a collection of players who arent RBs, but the best of those left the club last summer, and Vazquez has never been good enough and is now sneaky old. Even if they do finalize the Trent deal they really should be looking to bring in someone else to back him up as well.

Bale?

I’m here for the outcome where they can’t recruit any right-backs at all.

Jo Go for 50 million.

The Liverpool.com site really is absolutely fucking junk.

Headline - Slot to have more talks with Hughes about transfers after making “weird” admission

Story - lots of paragraphs unrelated to the headline, but has 1 sentence where it quotes slot saying of course he’s spoken to Hughes about plans for the summer as it would be weird if Hughes just came to him and said “these are the players we want”.

Headline - what Owner John Henry told Slot during title celebrations

Story - On being asked what Henry said to him Slot says so much was going on that he does not remember.

It’s 85.3% pass completion, which is 61st percentile among midfielders.

It’s all like that isn’t it.

“Blow for Slot as transfer target rules out move to Liverpool”.

You scroll through and it’s some bloke you’ve never heard of and he says he is committed to his current club currently.

Yet some people just keep wanting to believe “journalists” actually know things…

Thats the one thing that baffles me with Fabrizo “Here we go” Romano how so many people soak up what he says.

This is less about journos not knowing things, its about an entire site that exists to host stories that dont say anything.

Yes, but they’re both two sides of the same coin.

But aren’t they all like that.

I bet Football Insider has a less than 5% success rate.

Story from the Madrid press is that the player might be reconsidering his position, as is the club.

Rumors of interest from City and big money transfer to fund new acquisitions by Madrid..

Lol, sorry, my old eyes, I thought it was 61%, looked again and that is the percentile.

But look at his passing stats compared to Grav, he just isn’t in the same league or style.

Apart from being younger even Endo’s stats look better.
