The Unreliable LFC Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Atleast that sets the base price for next season!!! 150 million and upwards especially if MBappe extends his contract with PSG or moves to Madrid; Salah will be the Marquee signing for Arab Clubs.

They played their arm badly by suggesting they wanted him now to beat another team to him from next season.

Once that happened the club could be comfortable even in access of 150m.

Also a 100m 8 hours before the window closes you are joking.

Is Morton being sent out on loan ?

What was Kloppā€™s unusually forthright quote earlier in the summer? Was it other than at goalie weā€™re looking to do something everywhere this summer

All of them

The problem is they are quoting 150m, 175m but the first one up was 100m from a club and setup that have been under investigation not paying fees from back in 2017.

Club would need to see 200m with the vast majority upfront to budge, I would block the email at this point, and then certainly leave them at the back of the queue next summer.

This looks a fair deal to me

Thing is theyā€™ve had all summer.

Iā€™ll be well pissed if they sell him now and so would be the fans, if they suddenly trigger release clauses on a couple then perhaps it might happen.

Even if we trigger release clauses, would we have time for medicals and paperwork?

Doubt it.

We canā€™t replace Salah with another signing at this point of time. The only way heā€™ll go to Saudi is if thereā€™s a bid where weā€™d be fools to refuse even if it means holding on for half a season and adjusting with the other attacking resources available.

That means north of 450M. And payment made upfront.

I assume things can be done and we would only get deals done which we hope we could.

I doubt we are going sell Salah though, I just said youā€™d have to do something if you were to accept and the club has rejected he is on the move several times.

Expect it to run through to next summer. Club seems to be making that clear and at some point it will cross into annoyance. I would expect if they continue this that he may never end up there especially with interest from others expected next summer.

They had since June.

Anyhow official and the club stance is in here as well.

What is interesting in retrospect was Klopp called this out as an issue weeks ago. Itā€™s not that was impossible to see it as a possible problem, but it kind of came out of the blue so I wonder if he already had a sense there was going to be this sort of fuckery over Mo. Not that they would try to sign him, but that they would make public their intention to do so on a time frame that was problematic.

Did wonder at the time, only good thing about that is I assume the clubā€™s owners and manager sat down and discussed it.

I doubt FSG will sell from under Klopp, they know how important he is. I think with the links they put out on Gomez and Konate would have built up resolve even more.

These dickheads just canā€™t accept that they wonā€™t always get their own way. Like children.

I have no concern about that. The stories over Phil were that Klopp was ready to let him go on the first offer, not wanting to have anyone who was not fully committed, but Henry and Gordon put their foot down and didnt want to bullied by Barca. Iā€™d say the only way we let this happen is if Klopp is not happy with how Mo responds, and I dont see much indication that Mo wants this move.

But but butā€¦ heā€™s Muslim! :scream:

For what itā€™s worth, Fluminse beat Olimpia in the second leg last night so now have a semi to play at the end of September they will be favoured in.

Itā€™s fair to say we are short in central defence. VVD needs to get some rest into his legs over the season, Konate seems to be able to play about 30 games, Matip is now on the downslope (great servant, not having a go at him) and Gomez is covering central defence and right back.

Quansah just featured, and if we donā€™t sign anyone else, I suspect with issues higher up the pecking order, he will have a season where he sees a fair amount of action that could really kick start his Liverpool career, or, if heā€™s not quite up to it, possibly hurt him.

Anyway, itā€™s all a bit of a gamble.

Endo can play in defence in a pinch, and we might even see that, now that we have added another midfielder, but I hope not.

Hopefully we add a central defender before the window SLAMS shut. If we donā€™t, that is the one department that looks a bit more vulnerable.

I ā€œcanā€™t waitā€ for the first crisis in defence when weā€™ll have to turn to the likes of Endo, Bajcetic and Quansah to do a job there. Then possibly in January again some short-term options like Kabak. Wonderful.

As long as you prove you have a deal in place you can go over the 11pm deadlineā€¦

ā€¦The 11pm deadline is as set in stone like the Brighton auction deadline.
