Thats shocking from the options last year.
Wirtz can also cover all these positions (but I agree with the consensus that we need another attacker)
We still have people saying donāt worry do not panic.
11 days till the window closes and that is the options It should have never been left this late.
This is why its strange to even thinking about selling Harvey. If Wirtz has to go into front 3 for any length of time thats a body you have lost from midfield too.
Maybe we should have lent Newcastle our recruitment team?
Itās not our fault some deals havenāt yet completed.
We donāt actually want to sell Harvey, but Harvey simply doesnāt want to be just a squad player. He wants to be someone whoās guaranteed to be a starter. Since he wonāt get that with us, weāve promised him that if an acceptable offer comes along, weāll let him go if he wants to move there. Weāre not like Newcastle.
And you didnāt read my initial message and responded to Mascotās follow-up that added stuff I never said. So. I never suggested getting in another player in that position. Point is weāre understaffed, one game in, already playing musical chairs in dropping in players like Endo, Szoboszlai into postions they donāt usually play. Thatās all really. If you extend that to Szoboszlai then getting injured playing that positon, which is a risk as weāre playing him, we lose our potential substitute, or starter in midfield. Or extend that to losing an attacker. Its foolish to sell so many of our team and not replace. Weāre down Jotta, Nunez, Diaz, Quansah. Ekitike replaces one, Wirtz another, although Iād argue he was signed to play attacking midfielder not forward or winger, so again out of position and less effective, just seems strange to do that to our world class, record breaking transfer. Okay CP and NC arenāt playing ball, but weāve squandered a lot of time fucking around. For a well oiled machine we seem a little silly selling without a second choice for Isak or GuĆ©hi we can move on to.
Ideally we need some quality squad players, someone who is utility, signed to play a number of positons like Milner was capable of and happy coming in with that usecase. Milner did say he disliked the rightback role but would play there for the good of the team.
Iāve messaged one or two folks outside of this thread and been counselled to wait, itāll all work out. I recall a few seasons ago we did similar and it was fucking painful and got told then I was wrong when I said we were threadbare and lacked sufficient cover.
11 days. OMG 11 Days! Weāre going to lose the transfer window!
CTFO letās wait until its 11 hours before we start panicking.
If he isnāt, then it wonāt be long before he is. We seemingly donāt want to learn our lesson when it comes to depending on Joe.

We donāt have enough staff, but you donāt think we should buy more staff? Iām really confused on this one.
Itās okay to have different opinions; we still have to get used to Slotās approach. Many of us here donāt like the fact that he uses far less his whole squad, isnāt rotating enough, uses fewer youth players, etc., thatās just Slots way to do it.
But⦠one thing has already changed, and thatās his approach to Endo. He uses him more often and regularly now, albeit in a different position, but still.
Maybe Endo will be Slots Milner. We all thought it was awful when Milner had to play left-back, similar to Endo stepping in at right-back now. But as a stopgap now and then, it should be okay.
I think he should use Endo only in midfield in future he nearly gave me a heart attack playing at RB
If Liverpool are eyeing up Rogers as a future transfer that probably rules out going for a versatile forward option (in addition to Isak) this summer.
I like Rogers but Iām not too sure how he fits in for us. I much prefer the links to Olise being a target next year.
Tbf, Milner was a much better left back than Endo is at right back.
He had to do it, even if he didnāt like it. We had heated discussions here about the lack of a left-back back then; Milner had no choice when Klopp made him a left-back.
These days, we have a much wider selection at full-back than we did back then. Unfortunate injuries do happen⦠but this is all just temporary.
Milner wasnāt bad in that position mind.
I just remember him always checking back to cross with his right foot.
He was solid and reliable. I never had issues with him as a sub option. Itās like Gomez Iāve never had issues with him across the back, if he wasnāt injured a lot he would be a quality option.
