It’s a culturally correct hairstyle for his racial heritage. Why should he keep it “tidy” or limit himself to white person appropriate hairstyles? To fit in with the culture we’ve had rammed down our throats by media is the “proper” look and imagery for the sport. Black athletes in England have traditionally had to keep their hair short and clipped to keep in line with the way they should apparently look with very few examples of differences. I’m loving all the different styles, looks and cultural representation that is coming into the game now. Personally think Kalvin Phillips has a hairstyle I don’t get but love that he’s willing to be different and do something that’s right for him instead of fitting in. Used to love the old Netherlands side with all the unique, cool, characters in it. Hate how bland a lot of England based footballers look.

He shouldn’t, he can do what he wants. People were only passing opinions. Nobody is lobbying the FA or Premier league to ban dodgy haircuts.
This is a non issue and you’re making a mountain out of a molehill. If you like it great. Others don’t, great too.
I doubt Trent is losing any sleep over it.
The PC brigade, the free speech brigade etc is actually limiting free speech. But that’s humanity. They can never find the balance.

Ridiculous to make some opinions about Trent’s haircut a matter of race, culture in the context of the conversation that was being had. Also ridiculous to say every black footballer traditionally had to have his hair cut short. What a nonsenseical comment.

We don’t have to make more of it now as it is, for God’s sake, we reacted just as astonished and bemused when Alisson suddenly had a mustache. That was funny and we all laughed about it.
Why is it now something different? Because someone comes in and thinks in this case it is something else? Why? That’s ridiculous because it isn´t and it really shouldn’t be like that!

Think the hairdresser is an artist as for the rest: there is nothing racial into it for me. Just a nice young scouse lad, an excellent football player who has a new haircut.

Yeah. I don’t mind the dreads - although I don’t think they ‘suit him’. I think the overly elaborate pattern thing is naff and reminds me a bit of original ronaldo and his (2002?) world cup haircut. I expect it will be one of those that he’ll get shown pictures of when he’s a much older captain and people are looking for things to take the micky out of him.
But who gives a fuck.
