Few years from now he’ll struggle to recall who Jesse Lingard is.

Can not play that video in my Region but no problem. I was there and recorded this goal from the same perspective with my smartphone. Unfortunately I can not upload it here.

years?

You give Lingard that long?

Personally, I’d be inclined to say months, not years

I have always advocated to give TAA time to develop his defensive side of things and even at his age, he is probably one of the top 5 RB in the world already, but does anyone else feel that he has been very sloppy more and more, to the point where I think that he is getting a bit complacent? Comparing him to Robertson where even in our most difficult of times gives us q consistent output, TAA seems to be found out more and more…

I am not sure if its being found out, I just think he has started the season very sluggishly and isn’t influencing the game as we know he can. I also notice that he is also very rarely on corner duty these days and that his cross field balls and crosses are becoming something of a rarity. He did miss our preseason, did he not, so it might just be a case of feeling his way into things. He’s been utterly brilliant for the past two seasons so a dip in form was to be expected at some point.

Certainly hope it is a dip in form and not complacency. That would be disappointing. He is probably the beacon of example for all aspiring players in our youth teams. Long may he be that.

I think as a team we have started sluggishly and a bit hit and miss this season. Trent has been affected by/contributed to that. But he’s still a kid. We have absolutely no right to expect him to be half as consistent and rounded as he is let alone more. He probably is one of the best RBs in the world and the other contenders to the title are more specialist types, either pure attacking options or pure defensive options. He’s probably top 10 possibly top 5 looking from a defensive point of view. And although some RBs are more likely to be involved in goal scoring and shooting nobody comes close to him as a playmaking option. He’s the most rounded RB on the planet. Just not quite at top form right now.
