Trent ALEXANDER-ARNOLD: 2022/23

Will be ironic given how many times I have heard it suggested both here and from mates. It might not work out but I am amazed it has taken so long to at least give it a try. Need to persevere for the rest of the season as nothing to lose now.

It’s kinda obvious what Klopp is doing to TAA towards the last hour of the Arsenal game and it gives an insight on how our new number 8 at RCM should be operating while TAA is operating as a wingback.

We wouldn’t be able to see the full glory of Klopp’s plan for the right hand side until 1st Sept 2023.

Klopp “overthinking”, how dare he?

This range of passing from midfield is incredible. What a talent.

Good it was a bit better than good :kissing_heart:

I hope he can play like that against proper teams, I really liked what we saw from him in the last two matches. I’ll look very silly when it turns out that this is a ploy to lure Bellingham, so he could play in midfield with his mate. We’ll have to be at our best to win the Conference league next year.

Did you not see the v?

Some players have vision and some players can pass the ball he has both, loved his performance all round. He could be the controlling midfielder we need and I think him and Thiago can be exceptional as a 2 in our current formation.

Are Arsenal not proper?

If we actually qualified for the Europa Conference League, I would think we would be the shortest-priced favourites at the outset of a UEFA competition ever.

I was aiming higher, like Man City or Real Madrid! :joy:

Brilliant in the possession phase from a central position. That shouldn’t be surprising. He’s got more options to pick out from than from RB.

What will remain the question going forward how he does when he goes back in defence, depending on where we lose the ball. Sometimes he will stay in midfield, sometimes he will drop back to RB.

Good understanding and communication will be needed between him and whoever the RCB is on the day, when we do it.

Also, Salah. While he is here, we’ll see how playing wider affects him.

Klopp said before Leeds we might do it sometimes, sometimes not. We’ll see if doing this more often will have an influence on our transfer activity. Be it in midfield or in defence.

Man City are currently lower though

And you don’t play them every week.

A month ago or so, one of my mates made a joke comparing Arsenal to an elephant at the top of a tree: “No one knows how it got there but everyone knows it’s going to fall down.” I found it funny because I hoped that elephant would stay up!

No reason he can’t do it to be fair but it will work far better against those teams who sit back I feel.

Get this lad in goal…no wait, CM, no wait left wing…or, or out an out striker

Fantastic display and long may it continue

Just noticed this little snippet on the official site. They’re interviewing Curtis Jones and ask him about Trent’s performance against Leeds…

To me the implication here is that Trent has been making noises that he wants to be a midfielder (otherwise why would Jones be “always telling” him about it?)
