Trent ALEXANDER-ARNOLD: 2024/25

I’m probably one of a very small minority on here that thinks TAA is overrated.

To me, he has way too many off days for me to consider world class, or even elite, at the moment. Yes, he can often do fantastic stuff but the consistency hasn’t been there for a while now.

On the other hand… Bradley has a lot of potential but is nowhere near world class either. Yet there is so much talk about how much we are missing him.

That shouldn’t be the case now that we have TAA back… as he should be able to play most of the games.

I see a lot of people saying its OK we have Bradley…I remember people saying Its OK we have Ibe when Sterling left.
Potential is just that.

Be interesting to see what happens.

I have more trust in Bradley than in Ibe (and Markovic at the time, one of a few reasons why Sterling probably saw this wasn’t going to be good… until Klopp!), but I see and get your point.

Would be interesting to see if Trent leaves next summer, because we cannot have only Bradley (and then what, Gomez as backup RB for a season, if we get a CB in?).

And because of Bradley, you wouldn’t have another young one and you wouldn’t want to spend too much money either.

Ramsay is devastated.

We’re all devastated that he can’t get fit (for long enough) first and foremost before proving how good he is, what’s his current level and what’s his ceiling.

Played 22 senior, mostly lower league(s) games since his arrival in 2022 and will have two years left on his deal next summer.

It was a joke.

In all seriousness, is he injured yet again? I don’t think he’s played a game for Wigan in a while…

I don’t know. I guess his next chance might be in pre-season, if he’s fit and Slot thinks it’s worth having a look before another potential loan (which can clash sometimes).

He lost his place to Jamie Carragher’s son.

It’s always so heartwarming to know about their relationships outside of playing football. Think Alexander-Arnold just needs Chiesa as a buffer/sacrifice to the cats tbh…

I can picture it so vividly: TAA screaming and cowering into a corner, while Salah is filming with his phone, pissing himself laughing.

It’d be cruel to release the video, but he should!

It might give Hughes some ideas…

Sign the thing, or else…

I don’t think we’ve had a properly good, consistent right back between Finnan and Trent, so this will carry additional weight: that was the worst performance by a right back I’ve seen in a Liverpool shirt in my life.

Not subbing him off earlier was one of the biggest tactical errors (if not the biggest) that Slot made as a Liverpool coach and I had been literally screaming that at my telly since the half-time. Whole gameplan from Amorim was based on exploiting Trent’s lack of defensive awareness and application. I think he ended the game having won none of his duels and not attempted any tackles.

I don’t know if it’s the impending Real Madrid move weighing heavily on his mind or him preserving his fitness for it or just not being bothered but it left me angry and disappointed. This is club’s child and vice-captain, he should be setting the standards. If it’s Real Madrid related, he should be worried about how this kind of performance would be met by their rather forgiving, welcoming and patient fans.

Yeah, while he’s done great things for us, I just don’t think it’ll work for him at Real. Their fans and media can be brutal and he won’t have the hometown boy aspect to lean on.
We may seem harsh, but he’s been cut a lot of slack at Liverpool due to his undoubted class going forward and his local roots.

My 2 main concerns at the start of the season were TAA and VVD. Thought both had to improve massively if we were to defend competently as a unit.
VVD has stepped up this season imo and has performed consistently well whereas Trent on the other hand has been exposed as a fucking dreadful right back, a complete liability defensively who clearly believes every word written and spoken by those keen to massage his ego.
I’m struggling to remember a performance by a Liverpool player that provoked as much anger as I witnessed today.

I’m sure we had worse by Trent, Gomez, Clyne, Johnson, Flanagan.

Darwin, Robbo, Hendo, Fabinho and many others.

We are 23-4-1 in all competitions this season and some posters turn into those Arsenal Fan TV guys and act as if we are struggling to get into the Top4 after the few games we did not win.
