Trent ALEXANDER-ARNOLD: 2024/25

Dalot is on a contract until 2028 with a +1 club option. Surely United will fight hard to keep him. Last thing they need is to create new holes in defence/on the sides. Some other choices include Hakimi, who will have a year left on his deal in 2025, if he doesn’t prolong with PSG. Dumfries is out of contract next summer and I bloody hope it’s not us who take him.

From Trent to Dalot :flushed:. At this rate they would be after me by summer. How much should I demand .

Trent’s defending on the whole, this season has been very goid, however, the last 2 matches he has gone backwards, especially position wise, jus kept getting it wrong and partially to blame for noth their goals.

I’m pretty sure he cited earlier in the season that Arne was constantly updating his instructions on the side, so I’m wondering if there’s any changes tactically rather than because he personally wants to wander into those positions.

Genuine question, how much would we be able to get for him in Jan? We cannot continue to cater to his desires, you want control control control…what control? this guy gives the ball away more than anyone else in the team, repeatedly.

Frimpong should be the first player we sign under Arne that can actually have an impact for this season.

Read my reply in the pst match with regards to Trent and what he and Slot have discussed

It could be fatigue, it could be the pressure of the decision to make on his future, it could be both… Or maybe he’s just not fitting perfectly with the new/updated system? Anyway, for every two brilliant moments on the pitch, he has a poor one, usually one where he just lets his winger fly past him. I wish Bradley hadn’t got injured, so Slot could rest Trent a bit more. I also wish he signed a new contract, so that thing isn’t hanging on everyone’s minds.

Fixed.

Has he done a single positive thing in the last 2 games? Even his corners go straight out of play.

Too much attention in the media followed by a shit performance in the next match. Seen this before

The TAA issue, from his form to his contract, to his once elite contribution, seems to be morphing into an ‘elephant in the room’ scenario… Hard to imagine an LFC supporter saying ‘fuck him’ let him go and get the right hand side of the defence sorted… The lad does come in for some heavy criticism though.
Not sure if there is an answer to be had… or are we in the hand of fate, and just let it unfold

How many of his corners have gone out of play in last few games?
Your usual knee jerk nonsense

Newcastle was 3 games ago.

My post clearly stated “last 2”, try again.

I get the differing views on trent. For me, im fine with the odd bad game, and accept that there is always going to be a trade off with him in terms of his defensive abilities, which i think are way overblown.

If he doesnt have fitness issues, then his jogging back and effort concerns me…especially for vice captain. Im always accepting of off days, but not for effort.
