Trent ALEXANDER-ARNOLD: 2024/25

Lewis Steelw also suggested that Trent had been playing with injections for the past few weeks because of an injury sustained while playing for England, which explains his inconsistent form. Nice of England to crock one of Liverpool’s top players again.

Look, he’s obviously doing it to try to win a move to Real Madrid. Hence looking like he can’t be arsed and underperforming, that stuff fits in perfectly there. Nothing to do with injuries or anything, no not at all.

Quite obviously desperate to go there, so desperate that he’ll play through injury so he can reduce the number of games he has left with us, before he can play for his beloved childhood club Real.

Well, he could have sat out a few games in order to be fit for Real Madrid’s visit but he obviously didn’t want to play against his new club either due to his inconsistent form or out of love.

What hurts me even more is that Real Madrid will try to sell him back to Liverpool when he inevitably flops before agreeing a loan move with Bayern.

Either way and joking aside, I still think he joins them.

Agreed. It’s a win-win for Real; sadly, Trent is too stupid to realise that it’s a lose-lose for him.

BTW, have you started the Jaros thread yet?

I think if he joins, it’ll simply be because we didn’t offer enough money. Nothing else. He’s already made it plentifully clear that his priority is to stay with us, but for some reason while people take van Dijk and Salah’s statements as gospel, just the rumours of Real Madrid wanting to get him is enough to make people think he’s off automatically.

To be honest, I’m extremely surprised that Real Madrid aren’t after Van Dijk. If a reliable news outlet reported that they are interested in all of The Contract Three, I’d expect all of them to jump ship - Real Madrid, for all of their on-the-field pull, pay wages that can probably be matched only by state-owned European clubs.

I often think about how Rodgers used to call Stevie to have him try to convince his targets to join Liverpool. We could use Stevie having a chat with Trent now!

No, there won’t be a Jaroš thread until he’s a full-fledged first team player. I used to open these threads for young players and some of them wouldn’t have double-digit number of posts through the entire season, so I decided to use the Youth thread to discuss them instead.

Stevie, who sold his soul to Saudi - no thanks…

I’m not sure Salah is interested in Real Madrid, think he bears a bit of a grudge there. In any case, I think that given their age, the other two would rather end their careers here and have it mean more, than play for Real Madrid and be just yet another name.

A part of me will hope until the end of the season for another “how can I leave after a night like this” moment. I think that Liverpool is where all three belong and where they have a lot more pages to add to their respective stories, especially Trent.

I wouldn’t mind all three retiring here after winning more major trophies but I know that it won’t be easy to agree these deals and it will be hard to win in this football climate with a squad that wasn’t strengthened this year. That said, winning anything without the three of them will be impossible, at least in the short term.

Sorry, mate, but that’s nonsense.

I honestly hope I will be proven wrong either way but I don’t think that club can replace any of them in the short term - their levels are just too high at the moment, at least in case of Van Dijk and Salah.

Whilst I understand your concerns, it must be remembered that an effective team is always greater than the sum of its parts.

Take out Mo? Happens every AFCON.

Take out Trent? Conor can fill in.

Take out Virg? Konaté has actually been better than him this season; add Gomez or Quansah and, although it won’t be as good as Ibou + Virg, it’ll still be a bloody good centre half pairing.

Agreed. Every player is irreplaceable until they’re replaced.

I think he was referring to the combined impact of losing all three of them.

Salah comes back from AFCON. Bradley looks brilliant but still young. No one else comes close to Virg and we’d also miss his leadership

That’s not how it came across.

Bloody foreigners.

Problem is for Trent on current form he could actually seriously have to battle for his starting position next season… sooner if Bradley’s hammy is OK.

Man Utd name price as Real Madrid eye Red Devils star as alternative to Liverpool defender

Man Utd have named their price for Diogo Dalot as Real Madrid consider him as an alternative to Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to reports.

Spanish website Relevo claims that Real Madrid are ‘keeping a close eye on the Portuguese full-back’ as they look to sign a new right-back in the summer transfer window.
