Meant to mention this earlier. United are appealing for absolutely everything without realising they aren’t playing in the Prem where everything goes there way. They really are quite an unlikeable bunch aren’t they.
Agreed. And it’s really starting to get under the refs skin. I think he just went over to tell Ole to tell his boys to stop it.
Hi, how’s it going? Thought I’d drop by and say hello to my friends.
It’s going well. Now go away.
Hmm. Hmm, not sure he meant that as racist, could be he had forgotten his name. But it is not something that one is supposed to say and he should clearly have refereed to shirt number instead of pointing out skin colour. I think it sounds worse in Romanian perhaps because they use a similar word to negro as black. He is probably a sorry man right now.
On my way. Love to catch up at a more appropriate time.
Haha listen to Commentary saying this ref worries him from United’s perspective because he’s not interested. Is that Beglin?
EDIT: I will never forget The Boss patting this ref on his bald spot after the Barca win at Anfield.
Cheers, will let you know the score
Howling! It’s half time. I’m allowed. By the way, it’s a known fact that @RedOpium is a far bigger worry than me.
Fine. Stay but if I have to put up with a seven day celebratory wankfest from the punditry at large because of a United comeback then I will be requesting a ban fitting for your offence.
Fernandes seems intent on just following the ref around the pitch, complaining. He’s constantly in his ear, moaning instead of concentrating on actually playing football.
Okay. Okay. Fine. I don’t want my pristine reputation sullied either. I will sacrifice myself so that you all can have your fill. Leeches the whole lot of you.
Negru…the word for black in Romanian
He was speaking about the coach. He told the ref about abuse he had received, and when asked which one he pointed to Webo and said the black one.
Then I feel sorry for him. He will be shredded now, mostly by people who do not take mother tongue into account.
Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Feels a bit ugly though and makes me feel sorry for what he is soon going to go through
The media, fans, players and clubs will destroy him.
You’re right, he will be destroyed and will probably never officiate professionally again.
Yeah, a likely course of events I think.
I don’t feel sorry for him.
Should have known that ‘send the black assistant coach off’ is very politically incorrect in 2020.
The race issue/language barrier really has me confused. Calling someone a negro in an English context would be wrong of course and I am not a language specialist by any means but doesn’t a variation of negro mean black in various languages? I don’t understand, is he taking offence for being called black?
I live in a country which had one of the most institutionalised, publicised and ostracised race cultures of the 20th century but I don’t see people here being offended for being called black, or Indian, or Coloured. Hell, apply for absolutely anything and on the form they ask for racial group; Black, White, Coloured, Indian and ‘other’. Crucifying someone because of his language is surely detracting from the actual racism that is so prevalent?
