That would make the group round that much more meaningless. Winning the group has to mean something.
But yeah, crappy situation.

They should play it in England, LFC never gets calls from the refs there!
UEFA totally passing the buck. Anything to keep the trains (read: Euros) running on time?
I think Hungary is being mentioned int papers today?
I have not heard or read anywhere that LFC rejected that proposal?
I don’t even think that that switch was proposed to LFC nor rejected as you said since we are after a few of their players do you think we would jeopardise that?
Fine by me
I feel things will get more chaotic.
Ooh goody, just what we need, even more games!
Every team plays a similar range of opponents of differing strengths with final places decided by an overall league table.
I wonder what teams City will draw
Just bin off the League cup. Or at least excuse European Teams.
Orban called Orban and sorted it out.
I don’t suppose Liverpool fans are allowed to travel to Hungary?
No one should be travelling on any none essential travel.
Full stop.
Yet here we are.
Surprised it wan`t this.
Manchester City's Champions League last-16 first leg against Borussia Monchengladbach will be played in Budapest, with a German travel ban in effect.
Next…
Manchester United's Europa League last-32 first-leg match away to Spanish side Real Sociedad will be played at Juventus' Allianz Stadium in Turin.
I guess the Atletico vs. Chelsea will be move too. I wonder how many more games is going to be moved.
There comes a point where someone just needs to say enough.
Let the league complete and then see what you can do with the time left, a similar format to last year wouldn’t be a bad thing, problematic with the EL that still has 32 but not so much with the CL and likely to be done say in April/May than now.
As for the international break in March, FIFA need to postpone it, world of football is living in a bubble from those in the National League North and South who seem to believe continuing and completing a season when half the teams can’t afford it is a good thing to those in the punditry world who can’t see why teams aren’t spending or a teams with a continuous 7 or 8 starters out seem to be doing poorly.
Talking about June for my first jab, what happens if at the Euros a whole squad comes down and then unintentionally spreads it to another due to testing error the whole competition will fall apart within a week.
Not to mention the 3 or 4 friendlies they will try and fit in between the end of the season and the tournament
