The handball rule in UEFA competitions is also applied far more harshly. I think itās probably only 50-50 that the utd penalty gets given in the premier league

Just watching the highlights back as I didnāt see most of the game. Varane and Maguire trying to defend that cross which led to Copenās penā¦

The penalty utd received - point blank range and with his back to the ball (ignoring Varane probably fouled him first). But his arm was elevated to shoulder height and UEFA go nuts for that, but in the prem the other two factors probably outweigh that.
For the other one, Maguire punched the ball away from the forward

This entirely. Iād rather have non-English teams in Europe and non-PL teams in domestic cups. One of the pleasures of the Europa League is that we are getting to see teams and fans that we havenāt seen before or for a long time.

Thereās possibility for both, since there are a few stages. I love playing new teams, but Iām also never tired of more, decisive games against United. We have such a lack of European or generally non-league games against them. The more, the better. At least for me.
They will play in the play-off round while we, as group winner, will play in the round of 16.
