UEFA Champions League (Part 1)

Yeah, seeing one of the old giants win it over the plastic pop-up clubs would not be the worst outcome at all.

And I don’t? :joy:

You have bought into their crap then…

Nope. I just have no interest whatsoever in teams other than Liverpool.

I remember being really excited about the Barca-Utd cup winners cup final in 90 or 91 and actually celebrated Sparky’s goals in the win. That was when they were still shit though and I was a child so some mitigation

Rubbish!

No one remembers football before Sky because Sky is football!

As long as it’s not City or Chelsea, I can agree.

If not us, I’d rather Dortmund win than any English team.

Behave, @cynicaloldgit was already there when calcio first emerged in Florence.

I heard he was Dante’s grammar and punctuation tutor.

I hear he was secretly the very inspiration, but that Dante worried that it simply wouldn’t be a success if it was published with the original title; “A cynical Git’s view on the Afterlife and what awaits us all”. Comedy was supposedly thought to be a lot catchier and he was likely right.

It’s also part of the story that Dante never sent Git a dime for being an inspiring muse, which I am sure you will all agree, explains a couple of things regarding poor Git’s bitter writing.

Rumour has it that he taught Noah everything he needed to know about Ark building

It’s true then that @cynicaloldgit and not the other Virg(il) led Dante through the 9 levels.

If we don’t win, I could just about get on board with Aston Villa winning it (they won’t) although I’m not sure about their owners. Still, they have pedigree in this and I remember a big number nine they had, scouser Peter Withe, who scored the winner against Bayern Munich in 1982.

I think that was pre Sky!

Arsenal? Nope. Don’t want them to win anything. Can’t stand them. Can’t stand Man City either, but that goes without saying, and even Rambler doesn’t like them.

Let’s go Villa and Bergamo!

Monaco 1 up.

From a corner, Martinez with a good initial save but Singo reacts quickest to nod in the rebound.

Almost 2…Monaco have some interesting wide players.

Yeah, the kid with the hair playing on the right wing has been dangerous all game.

Looked bright hasn’t he? Although not a fan of the big chance he blazed over with the last kick of the first half…superb bit of play from Taki that was.
