Only annoyance would be finishing first. I’ve sort of got over the annoyance of it not giving us any break.

At this point the Benfica (bottom half) end of the bracket looks easier but we shall see.
PSG are a concern. They have some really nice players and a good manager. I’d still expect us to progress but it’d be much harder compared to Benfica.
Pavlidis at least wouldn’t cost as much as Nunez.

I much rather City progress.
Real Madrid haven’t been great this season, but feel they are closer to being able to pull off a “we’ve been waiting for that all season” sort of performance in the latter stages of this competition than City are and so in that sense they are more dangerous.

My thoughts exactly. Much as I hate to admit it, Real are two good games away from being a threat to win the whole thing. I just don’t see City as having the component elements to put together a run, at least not as readily.

City are cooked and they know it, and so even the embarrassment of them getting dumped out so early is already baked in to their understanding of where they are. If looking at it purely from the Schadenfreude PoV it would be better to let them win this, start thinking that maybe they’ve turned a corner and then get embarrassed by someone like Feyenoord.

Look at Pep’s subs today. It feels like he isnt even trying anymore. Once they went 2-0 down the game they were down by 3 on agg. He’s got Doku, Grealish and KdB on the bench and he does nothing. Just sits back and watches his starting XI (minus Ake for Stones) get play the game out with little hope of changing anything.
Even after he went 3 down on the night it took him another 15 mins to get some of the kids on.

PSG winning 6-0 now. Benfica certainly the preferred option in the draw. If we get Benfica and win, and PSG also win their last 16 tie, does that automatically mean we would play PSG in the quarters?
