UEFA Champions League (Part 1)

Wow. 7-0 now. The odds on PSG winning the CL just got a lot shorter.

I reckon that’s Brest more or less out the CL now…

PSV Juve heading for ET?

Paris Saint-Germain 7-0 Brest (10-0 agg)

PSG are the first team ever to have seven different goalscorers in a Champions League match.

They have been absolutely sublime.

Will Barca fans be as nervous as Liverpool fans….probably.

Worry about that later the PSV Juve match is exciting right now.

Looking like it could be a real miserable week for Italian clubs.

Bakayoko ripping them to shreds there. 3-1 PSV

So are we up against Benfica? How does this work?

or PSG. Depends on a draw

There’s a draw?

Friday morning - 6 am Eastern, noon CET

It will be a bit dull, because it is just a sequence of sorting pairs. Benfica-PSG face LFC-Barca, etc

Wouldn’t be much of a reward for finishing first!

Had the seeds held, PSG and Benfica were the two lowest ranked teams in the Round of 16. A couple of underdogs advanced, Brugge most notably

Don’t forget PSV who put out Juve sĆ©rie A lost 3 teams in these playoffs

The reward was that we didn’t have to play an extra two playoff games to qualify for the last 16.

PSV were the 14 seed, Juve was the 20. Juve did not have a great group/league stage. But yeah, Atalanta was a 9 seed to Brugge’s 24. Feyenoord was 19 and knocked off 13 Milan

Keep fingers crossed we draw Benfica!

Mbappe with a performance for the ages, he’s a problem. All the baggage people think he comes win, totally worth it for nights like that alone. Hard to see past Madrid with that front 3 and Jude behind. It’s frightening.

The PSV left winger Lange dynamite he destroyed Juve

This is the draw I’d like to see:

PSG v Barca
Bruge v Aston Villa
Real Madrid v Atletico
PSV v Arsenal

Feyenoord v Inter
Bayern v Leverkusen
Dortmund v Lille
Benfica v Liverpool

Keeps us away from English clubs - avoids Atletico who I think are best placed to hurt Real - and gives us a very favourable path

We’d (nearly) all like to see the easiest possible route to the final, while the other big teams knock each other out; sadly, it rarely works out like that.

Still, in order to be the best, you have to beat the best.

I cannot believe Fraudiola left out his big hitters on the bench(Haaland and DeBruyne) presumably giving up on the RM tie but keen to play them against us! We are a lot more in his head than I thought!
