UEFA Champions League (Part 1)

Basically my feelings. They are a proper club with a history and tradition. They aren’t a sportswashing venture. For the most part, they seem to have a proper fanbase.

It’s not my club, but when they aren’t competing with us, best of luck to them.

Maybe, the social media is the difference, as it tends to be full of tedious wind-up merchants and trolls.

I have a soft spot for Arsenal. I liked their players, especially under the George Graham era. Then, i have also admired Arsene Wenger where he changed the culture of football in terms, he was more empathetic father figure, changed the diet and made players fitter and athletic. He is a true gentleman. The Arsenal fans I knew growing up were very nice and friendly people. I would like Arsenal to win it for him especially as well as the fans.

It also makes our league stronger and more interesting for foreign players to come to our league if a UK club win it.

I’m inclined to be aligned with @peterroberts here. Perhaps Barcelona is worse, in which case I would change my order of preferences, but otherwise I just don’t like what the club currently stands for, footballing-wise.

I am hoping whoever wins the PSG Arsenal clash goes on to win it as I can not stand rolly Polly wingers or cynical cheats.

Inter only conceded 1 goal in the group stage. In fact yesterday was an anomaly.

I had a soft spot for Arsenal under Wenger. He professionalized them and added a lot to the wider game, and they played good football and had some smashing teams. Even in his later years at Arsenal, he got them regular CL football while on the club side the purse strings were tightened in order to get the stadium done.

There was a lot to like.

Fast forward to Arteta’s Arsenal, and I just don’t like them. I think he is over praised as a manager for very modest achievements so far - one FA Cup for three quarters of a billion or so? Starting with a competitive team five years ago.

In addition to him being praised unduly in the wider game, the main reason I don’t like them is the cynicism. They rough you up and go way beyond the line with their approach to corners and set pieces. The refereeing has not caught up to them yet, but every corner there are numerous fouls committed, and when it is the other way around, their players throw themselves to the ground at the slightest touch. Ugh.

I am able to say they have some smashing players, and a number of them would look good at Liverpool. They can, and do, play lovely football as well… but I suppose it is their willingness to forsake that side, to pursue Tony Pulis style dark arts, that makes me dislike them.

They have the players, and the means, to show us the beautiful game. Far too often they serve up something else.

Stoke is a bit of an insult, as obviously they are much better than that. Atletico Madrid snide might be closer? Anyway, I don’t like them!

One small issue with that is it ignores 1958 and 1963

Plus, we won it in '78, not Forest.

Hate to say it but I think if Arsenal win tonight they will go through.

I’d rather Arsenal win than another load of sportswashers do.

I’d rather Arsenal get to the final and then lose.

If Paris play like they did against us over the two legs they’ll prevail. Fingers crossed for me , I couldn’t care who wins it as long as it’s not those cheating twats.

I hope Arsenal win tonight. Rather them than PSG. I won’t forget what the minority of those Parisiennes did during to our fans and Real Madrid fans during our last Champions League final.

I doubt whether many of those responsible for the mayhem that night were football fans at all , let alone Paris supporters.

I want them both to lose, arrogant twats. Pest vs Cholera

I want Arsenal to lose 2nd leg in heartbreaking circumstances and a few days later give us a guard of honour.

The hypocrisy of ranting about City and their oil money for years but then wanting PSG to beat Arsenal is stunning.

Not for me. I hope Arsenal trounce them and do the same to Barca or Inter in the final.

To hell with that. I want Inter to dismantle Arsenal completely.
