Speaking of which, a few years ago they let one of the stars of their academy leave, a Guinean born kid called Ilaix Moriba. Unlike someone like Pedri who they brought in as close to a finished product, Moriba had been at their academy since he was a child. He made about 20 appearances for them in his breakout season, becoming one of their youngest ever goal scorers, but was let go the following summer as part of their desperate attempt to raise revenue to avoid sanctions.
