Or Old Trafford. Goodison is out, it wouldn’t hold our fans, capacity is only 38,000
What a thoroughly depressing few days.
Cannot wait for Atletico to twat Utd tomorrow.
They’re shit cunts, but they get my vote this week.
I think Klopp would love to win the CL at Wembley, to cancel out his loss in their in the CL final with Dortmund.
Be good if it could be held at Dortmund… Every local fan will be on the side of Jurgen
EDIT: Bring on Bayern in the final for Jurgen + BD to see some revenge dished up
Fixed for accuracy
A bit sick of so many high profile games across multiple competitions at Wembley, semi-finals, finals, etc. Poor Istanbul just can’t get lucky in last years with that planned final. Oh well, if we win 3 trophies at Wembley this season, then great. But neutrally speaking, a bit boring. Ceferin talked about the possibility of having a final four CL week, one legged semi + final all at one venue. I don’t like it. Good luck with organizing that also. Plus, it will immediately limit a lot of places, who can even hold such an event.
This is the eighth time (in nine seasons) Atleti reached the knockout stages under Simeone. They won the Europa League in the intervening season.
Apparently they’d only reached the knockout stages seven times in their entire pre-Simeone history, but of course the format was different.
Wish it didn’t conflict with our match. Cholo’s brutes savaging the scum’s delicate flowers and fake hard-men sounds like a beautiful thing.
And a couple goals for Luis, of course.
After the Euro final Wembley won’t be holding it, I have a feeling that’s set back any chance of hosting a major tournament and if it’s an emergency choice it’s got no chance.
Wouldn’t be against Wales or Scotland getting it (especially if it’s all English final) even Ireland, most neutral would be Portugal.
Dublin, Naples, Seville, Lyon, Dortmund
They should hold the final in a stadium where the home team has no chance of reaching the final.
Old Trafford it is.
As someone said Goodison isn’t suitable.
Got to say I’m not that keen on either of the games tonight, how Lille and Villarreal even make it this far is absurd.
Well it’s hardly absurd. We shithoused our way to the final in 2005, beating some absolute powerhouses in the process. We were not a great side by any stretch of the imagination. Sometimes you just get the right combination of luck, good management, and favorable matchups that allow you to progress.
Look at United under Ole in 2019 getting a result away to PSG. Ole’s team and tactics were shite compared to that PSG side, but sometimes the matchup is an issue. That’s the magic of the European Cup.
It is absurd mate, you’re picking out 2 games over 17 games.
& Ole’s team was hardly shite…Other than Mbappe & Neymar who’s overrated anyway it was even on paper.
Vlahovic 1-0
Easy as that…chest control and then swivels on the finish…great finish.
Fantastic start by Vlaho at Juve.
1-0 Chelsea.
& this is what I meant. Tie over in both games inside 10 mins.
Roll on tomorrow ffs when you got 2 actual ties, not that it’ll matter because the big boys are in town.
