UEFA Champions League (Part 1)

We’re winning this cunt.

Davies has been sidelined with heart issues as a result of Covid. probably hasn’t helped losing the second best LB in the world

Bayern lost Hummels, Thiago, Boateng, Alaba and Coutinho in the last two years and we’re not really able to replace them.

Just a few games they did not win this season but some of those were really strange.

Kimmich refused to get the vax until he catched long Covid and he is far from his best since he returned.

At the moment they are also without key players Neuer, Goretzka and Davies.

Would never write off Bayern but even if everyone is available they have a very thin squad.

I am sure this is the weakest Bayern squad in the last 30 years.

When did they sign Tsimikas?

Dortmund and ManU in the EL

Chelsea in the Super Cup

Porto, Man City, Roma, Napoli, Paris, Bayern, Barca, Ajax, Milan, Atletico and Inter in the CL.

Some big names / strong teams we’ve beaten under Klopp in Europe.

The one big club that we have not faced under him is Juventus. Hope this still happens at some point.

Sevilla and Real - 3 Games against both of them but were not able to beat them once unfortunately.

Remember when we drew 0-0 with Bayern at Anfield and the entire footballing world dropped its bundle about our chances of progressing?

I do, and we all know how that turned out…

I’d forgotten that their only goal at home was scored by Joel…lol

I honestly have the same vibe now. Completely unfazed by anyone over two legs.

You’re being very generous to Utd here.

My twatty manc-supporting brother in law texted me after the 0-0 and said “that’s it for Liverpool then, Bayern always score at home.”

After we borked them 3-1, I texted him back and said, “hey, you were right!!!”

The cunt.

No away goals rule anymore also helps us.

But even before…

Over two legs we can always put 3+ goals in of both games behind most opponents.

I want us to draw City because I don’t trust anyone else to kick them out.

UEFA can help my nerves regarding the venue of the final being in a country the rest of Europe is at war with (potentially) and organise/announce a plan B. Anfield would be nice lads!!!

Yeah if there isn’t already a plan B there should be.

You know they won’t have one though and will be scratching their heads as soon as the semis are concluded. Though of course we will be entering May and the pipeline threat will be less so then.

Make that Liverpool in the last 20+ years or so.

Honestly, I’m so proud of almost all of our European campaigns bar a few (Rodgers’ 14/15 and 12/13 even if that was a new start, some of the 02-04 two in a row under Houllier, the 10/11 one also wasn’t great but the club was in such a mess then).

I love us in Europe, absolutely hate it when we’re not in any European competition. I want us to be in the CL every season of course, but I want us to be at least in Europe every season as well.

Yeah I remember thinking that I wanted us to at least make the Europa League last year when it was looking unlikely.

Surprise, surprise, the English press consider Wembley to be the front runner to replace the Gazprom Arena. Nothing against another trophy…no matter where it’s won but Wembley again?

Where else could it possibly go to? With Wembley’s track record of letting coke head fans run riot it really is the obvious choice.

*last years final really should have been moved to Wembley, what a joke that was.

Wasn’t it easily moved to Portugal during the pandemic?

I’d say they should wait until the semis and then give it to a country which doesn’t often get the chance to held events like that.

Istanbul, Wembley and Munich are already confirmed for the next three years.

Or one that hasn’t been nuked by Putin.

I actually dislike Wembley, both the new and the old. Give me the Millennium Stadium any day of the week and twice on a Sunday. Could be nostalgia, of course.

Fuck it - have the final at the Etihad - imagine winning No.7 in their house.
