I bought my ticket on eBay from a bloke in Perth whose boss wouldnāt give him time off work. I flew from Sydney to Istanbul on 3 flights that took 42hours. My gf lived in Munich and flew down to Istanbul to meet me. The only hotel I could find was The Hotel Splendid on an island in the Bospherus.
Me and me gf were at Taksim Sq all day and then I left to go to the game. I was sat 10 rows back over the halfway line.
What a game!! What a day. What a night!! After the game all the Liverpool supporters went ā¦ somewhere! I canāt remember.
I got back to my GF the next afternoon about 2pm. She had to get to the airport to get home to Munich.
20 years!!! Weāre now married with 2 kids and living in Brisbane. Istanbul was and remains the best night of my life. YNWA.
And just because @cog is too old to have remembered that heās forgotten what treasured memories can be doesnāt mean they dontā exist.

I struggle to understand how it is āsnowflakeā to have fond memories and enjoy reliving them 20 years later. Istanbul will never be topped.

Except most people donāt tamper with their own wiring. Cutting the wires connected to emotion is a really bad idea.

He rarely goes out of character (he is very impressive in this regard). You have to treasure the moments when he does.
I should start a list one of these days and write down date and approximate time, for every time I think I spot him stepping out of the confines of his internet persona. There have been a few times, but sadly, no list available so he can still claim perfection (since I am not at all going to work and trawl for old slips).
Be happy he is ours and appreciate his dedicated effort. 10/10 for effort and dedication. No one else comes close.
