UEFA Champions League (Part 2)

I’m pleased for Rashford. He had such a bad time at Man Utd as they turned on him and he fell out of favor with the manager. He always had the talent but it was not clear if he would show it again. Two lovely goals tonight. Great header and what a hit for the second.

He really should be an elite player, pace, size, skill, can finish spectacularly. Did no harm to his England prospects with Tuchel in attendance.
TNT sports kept bleating on about how he’s “yet to score for Barca”. I’m glad he shut them up in such eye-catching fashion in such a big match.

Yeh, Darren Fletcher, the commentator on TNT, said “Trippier is winning his battle with Rashford “.
Oops! Then Rashford scored two great goals! Fletcher does wind me up, with his completely over the top gushing praise for Newcastle.

Who told all the players to pose with their arms crossed in such an artificial manner? And a few players even have their hands stuck in their armpits.

So much cringe!

superstar, nervous

Our old boy Mings still has his shot saving instincts.

Victor Osimhen back from injury and on bench for Galatasaray tonight.

Michael Oliver…SMDH

Man City 130+ continues to get haunted by anything Spurs related in UCL. Eric Dier scored an equaliser (pen) for AS Monaco at 90’ (match ended in 2-2).

Just thought I’d put this there for you @Magnus.

My 10 yo in Adelaide Australia just had a friend over for a playdate and he came wearing a Bodo Glimt shirt and scarf. The legend grows…

That is so, so cool (and surprising) !

The tiny caveat is that his mother is Norwegian and he spent 6 weeks there in May-June this year…

If you then proceed to tell me she is from Nordland as well (the county where Bodø is located), I fear it no longer counts !

PSG were absurdly good again. Missing Marquinhos, João Neves, and Dembele, Doue and Kvaratskhelia in their attack, they fielded three players under 20 and Barcola. After the first 30 minutes during which Barcelona were slightly better and took the lead, they gained control and proceeded to batter them for the rest of the match.

Their pressing is unbelievable; They completely suffocated the hosts and their passing is slick, quick and incredibly sharp. Nuno Mendes is a beast and every single one of their players is excellent both technically and physically.

No side is close to them for the time being and the contrast between their performance and ours couldn’t be more stark and depressing.
