UEFA Champions League (Part 2)

And it’s 2:7

PSG significantly strengthened its lineup during the January 2025 transfer window with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. That literally turned the team’s fortune around.

I’m hoping Nigella Lawson is waiting for me when I hit the sack later.

I wish we could defend like Arsenal.
We seem to give up on clean sheets halfway through last season

Arsenal have a squad to cope.
2 decent players per position

I think they’re nailed on to win the PL this season unfortunately. Probably go deep in the CL as well.
Legohead has got them well organised, a midfield that functions and defenders who aren’t scared of the physical side of the game - 2 areas where we are sorely lacking right now.
I actually think they’d have a couple of titles in the last few years if it wasn’t for Arteta’s obsession with shithousery and cheating. Maybe he’s realised that.
Unfortunately I don’t see our situation improving. We’re a fucking clown show at the back with players who either can’t defend or don’t want to.

Only one person can stop arsenal winning the league and that’s the manager. If he starts with his negative crap city could win it.

Shall I send her round after she’s done at mine?

I don’t think they have that extra something to deliver a CL title. It’s a bit formulaic and dull. Also when things don’t go there way I’m not sure there is a plan B.

They will win the title that’s a given but I’m not sure about this.

It’s hardly a given. It’s October, a lot of things can happen from now till May. We could very well be right in it, as unlikely as it seems now.

As for the CL, they are among the favourites and their style is actually more conducive for it, but again at the moment they wouldn’t lay a glove on PSG. No team in Europe would.

We should disband the PGMOL and import our refs from the continent because refereeing there is so much better…

Season after season, Arsenal supposedly wins the title after just a few games, but somehow they always seem to end up choking. Nothing will be different this season. They start strong, and then once the injuries start piling up…

Looking at the angle, while it is a terrible call I can forgive the referee. But appalling conduct, and the video replay should have picked that up.

Its the big limitation of VAR in that it cannot yet intervene on a second yellow. Similar the Jota red against Spurs in THAT fucking game

Think they should have an overarching rule that VAR can intervene if the Ref has been a plonker.

I think there was talk of being able to intervene on second yellows and its kind of crazy its taken this long to get around to it and give it the green light

The referee deserves a statue. He gave the cunts just a taste of what they’ve been doing to the domestic league for decades.

The pundits and the reporters on their payroll can’t stop crying, while everyone else is laughing and making fun of them.

But yes, in isolation it’s a terrible rule not to be able to review second yellows.

The complication is that they would also have to review the first Yellow, on the basis that the second could be correct, but becomes a red due to the mistake on the first.

Only team that’s stopping them is Man City and I feel they are too light.
