UEFA Champions League (Part 2)

Thuram has been diabolical here

5-2

Surprised at that result, having seen the 2-1 score. In Serie A, Juventus has not been the team they were in the autumn, a great deal more cutting edge. They probably would have beaten Inter in Milan on the weekend if not for a really dodgy red card.

Likely one of 3 now for us

Vini’s walked off in Lisbon. Looks like Prestianni has said something from under his shirt.

Says racist chanting on flash scores.

Beggars belief how stupid these people are
.its not like the statue of EusĂ©bio doesn’t sit directly outside the ground.

Though it seems most countries now have around 30% of people who would happily vote for a racist

Not sad to see Juve taken out of our path, but I have to say I do prefer the away crowds a little less on the stabby side of things.

Likely to be either Gala or Athletico.

He celebrated in front of the home fans and got a booking, but he was lining up at the restart when he walked by Prestianni who had his shirt pulled over his mouth. He only lost his temper at that point.

Don’t care if he shows his wang to them somethings are plain wrong. The greatest Benfica player of all time was black.

Prescianni said something and I suspect it was not nice.

Vintage Mourinho theatre with the red card.

Or make assumptions when we really haven’t got a clue what was or wasn’t said.

I was at a match several years ago when Bobby Firmino was accused of something similar by another fucking horrible, obnoxious cunt.

Like I said, I suspect that what Prescianni said was not nice.

And you don’t have to be Einstein to suspect that it wasn’t nice

Which is why he chose to cover his mouth with his jersey.

Racism is deplorable and needs to be punished in the strongest manner possible.

On a side discussion, how do football and authorities differentiate between racist remarks or not so nice or nasty remarks or, ambiguous ones. For example would a referee differentiate between a nasty remark along the lines of your mother being a whore and our whole team slept with her. Or ambiguous ones (personal experience actually of a colleague who was accused of racism) when he shouted to a Muslim colleague ‘you fucking pig’ and to the latter it obviously took on a different meaning while the former obviously insisted his words are exactly what it is without reference to individuals.

So I am wondering how would a referee react if such statements are made compared to obvious racist ones.

I always thought it was a red card for foul and abusive language. Ref makes the call and obviously racial or homophobia fits that but has heavier post match implications. So it should.

In this case an Argie v a Brazilian what could go wrong?

I think Vini is a dick but he doesn’t deserve a racial sledge. No doubt in my mind that was the case. I bet it ends up he said she said - nothing.

As Real progress through Europe I wonder if Vini is booed or cheered by opposition supporters. I think I know the answer unfortunately.
