UEFA Champions League (Part 2)

Ståle Solbakken (who manages our National Team), commenting on the Glimt game, was surprised that the Portugese team appeared to be disappointingly ill prepared. He then used a very Norwegian expression which I doubt you use in English.
“Det brenner på dass i Portugal” (the loo/toilet is on fire in Portugal). Meaning that hope of progression hangs in the balance, using civilised language.

If teams don’t start taking Bodo seriously, they’re going to get knocked out. These aren’t some no name bums that’ve reached this point by accident.

Welp, the English team drew or lost in this leg of CL 16. I thought the PL is supposed to be the strongest league in Europe?

It is.

We thought our performance was bad last night, City’s was much worse. They created nothing.

Did Pep Guardiola overthink in setting up his team in cup ties again?

I didn’t watch the Real Madrid vs Manchester City game, nor the PSG game (as you all know). However, the team I have been the most impressed with by far, certainly when it comes to offensive football, is actually Bayern München. If they can retain the level they have shown so far, I think they can absolutely beat anyone in this tournament.

However, I hear Real Was magnificent, I see PSG scored lots of goals. But as I said, I cannot comment on those games. But I have seen Bayern now over several games, and imo they are super strong this year in the UCL.

I think both Bayern, Madrid (the Real version) and PSG (maybe) are the 3 stand outs at the very top. Atlethico Madrid is also insanely strong at home, but maybe not as good as these away from home.

Dark poney Bodø/Glimt is of course not a serious contender. And yet, cup is cup and they have a bigger chance of winning the Champions League now than I have winning first prize in lottery if I buy a coupon

But maybe Arsenal can bore us all the way to the final, but strong doubt. But of course, all the English teams are strong. But imo not as strong this season as Bayern, Madrid + Madrid and PSG (not sure about PSG though, though they have uncanny offensive potential).

In the return leg Liverpool will have to play the same back 4 as against Wolves because Konate was all over the place and Kerkez was ill disciplined, when Virgil had Gomez and Robbo on either side of him he seemed less panicky and looked more relaxed. We also need a lot of luck with the refs. We might lose 4 PL teams next week.
PSG got a lot of help from their FA as they postponed their matches before the shitty game and they did the same last year when they beat us.

Did you not see Robbos 1st couple of passes?

He shouldn’t have even been on the pitch.

Anyone wearing that stupid red top with white sleeves should be given an automatic red card for crimes against football

After I watched MOTD the pundits said that UEFA instructed the refs to penalise the PL teams for grabbing on corners or set pieces by giving a free kick to the defending teams. I would have been ok with that if they had offered the same curtesy to us. It literally neutered Arse until they got a dodgy penalty.

I did but Robbo doesn’t do well coming of the bench late on in the game.

A pretty fine short view.

To be fair, they shouldn’t be in the Premier League in the first place with all their cheating…

We are going to the next round !

After the Spurs performance, they’ll be struggling to sell those tickets.
