The lineup this time to the semi’s for the Europa seems rather strong.

The CL drop outs are there. This is one element of this competition i dont like. If youre out of the CL you get a freebie shot at this if you finish 3rd at group stages.
Increases the profile of the competition though.
Every chance that once in a while there would be one or two major clubs getting into the europa league and that only increases the viewership etc etc

It’s a mark how little I’m paying attention to other things going on the league that I was surprised that they seem to have fallen off the pace recently as I was that they were on such good pace initially.
I think they will. The laughing a Barca was warranted, but this is already a very different side than the one that got booted out the CL under Koeman. Xavi has overseen a very real improvement and while you couldnt see it immediately, the last month or so has been night and day. They still have work to do to get back to the level where they are competing with the best CL sides, especially at the back. And the financial handcuffs it looks like they will have this summer will impact that being able to happen immediately, but I think there is no one left in this competition who can live with what they have been able to play like the last month or so.
Interesting, Barca have never won the competition.

No, when I say the competition I mean under every name/format so far.

They won the fairs cup a few times, which is considered a precursor to the UEFA cup. It was not a UEFA organized competition though so is not listed among official UEFA honours lists.

I’d say Rangers have a fair chance of the final should make the semis, I see it being West Ham vs Barca semi.

Yup. What i would really like is for the top 3 in europa league to qualify for the next years CL. Even if one needs to go through the qualifying phase. Make it a contest with way more context and that will get me hooked.
