UEFA Europa League

I think he won it under its old name as well didn’t he?

UEFA Cup was rebranded as the UEFA Europa League in 2009. Emery won Europa League in 2014, 2015, 2016 with Sevilla, 2021 with Villarreal, and today with Villa.

Oh right my mistake

Maybe we should change our name to Livervilla or Villapool :joy:

From what I have seen with Unai and Aston Villa, I wouldn’t mind having him as our manager. He has worked wonders on a limited budget.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Freiburg :joy:

Well done, Aston Villa, really well done. A proper historical club, led by a truly excellent head coach. They had their wobbly moments in recent weeks, but finish the season on a high, and if Emery stays put, they will be a force to be reckoned with next season.

At least one current LFC player won a trophy this season (even though he didn’t play much)

And his teams play with verve, creativity, and INTENSITY!!
I like that he is so passionate and involved on the touchline. That’s the kind of manager we find a connection with naturally!
I also remember when his Valencia beat us in the EL final. We just couldn’t keep up with them!

Unfortunately he doesn’t seem to be able to handle the job of managing big teams ie he was sacked from Arsenal PSG jobs.

Maybe, pressure and experience working in the EPL has helped him grow as a manager and go on to the next step.

The problem is that top teams want immediate results and he was given time to work at Villa.

I think that he will have learned from experience in those two jobs. His ‘failure’ at Arsenal was partly due to trying to do too much in training with the players, which the players reacted poorly to. Not so much in terms of quantity of training time or drills but in the range of things he was coaching them in being wildly different from one session to the next so they didn’t feel they had a set way of playing they could fall back on if needed.

I don’t remember what signings were made under his time there.

Think you mean Sevilla. Valencia doesn’t have the word Villa in it..

Whoops yes…I got Rafa’s old club mixed up in my head. And that was also Moreno’s old club and he properly shat the bed that night for us.

Made up for Villa, they’ve been really entertaining all season and are a great club. Should have finished higher than Manure, but they dont have the squad that the rest of the top 4 do. Emery is my manager of the season.

Bournemouth 2 up, playing well, Kluivert and Rayan with the goals, assisted by Truffert and Scott respectively.

Sociedad struggling with the intensity.

Truffert has quality in his delivery from wide and is accomplished in possession, Scott’s pass for Rayan’s goal was pinpoint.

Sociedad have stepped it up 2nd half and have taken the game to Bournemouth.

Hopefully Bournemouth win but have to exert themselves to prevent the opposition getting back on terms.

I see Celtic fans moaning how shit they are…. 6/6 in their league.

Says it all how shit Scottish football has become, perhaps trying to improve it?
