UK Politics Thread (Part 2)

I dont see her as the resigning type. Will be interesting to see the direction this all takes though.

This government has obviously lost the trust of a majority of electors and also of the markets. Is there no way to hold early elections? Many other countries would already have held one when Johnson had to leave. So, what does it take for this government to fall before it does yet more damage to the country?

Did you see the polls yesterday? They aren’t going to call an election as they’d get wiped out of existence. And there’s no other way to get an election in this famous ‘democracy’. Unless we take to the streets?

She’ll be sent away to live on a farm.

Fixed it for you

Hopefully with a view of wind farms and solar panels :grimacing:

Just had an interesting conversation with the young lady at The Telegraph’s help desk when I called to cancel my subscription.

This article was the last straw:

Utter drivel.

I gave up on the Telegraph when Peter Oborne left. When their chief political editor walks out due to client journalism you know that nothing in it is worth reading. (OK, I like their film reviewer but that’s about it).

A no-confidence vote would result in a GE , but , as desperate as the situation is , I can’t see Tory MP’s facilitating an election in which half of them might lose their seats.

Pencilled by the genius that is David Frost no less.

Interesting the amount of people you come across that think the Telegraph is a balanced news source.

The Telegraph has always been a Conservative supporting newspaper with a right-of-centre viewpoint. There’s nothing wrong with that but there is a huge difference between having a conservative viewpoint and simply printing lies and propaganda.

Not directly though, the governing party get the opportunity to pick another leader instead?

Conservatives being the new Watford FC

I wonder how much of this stems from the period of shilling for China?

I thought before then it had a better reputation, but found its sales declining in the late 90’s?

That’s only after a Conservative Party no-confidence vote. (Letters to the 1922 committee and all that rigmarole.) If Labour tabled a no-confidence vote and enough Tories sided with them , we’d have a GE.

He’s extremely smart. Doesn’t mean he can’t be wrong though.

Can you copy paste it please?
