When did Naga become such a Tory shill?

Fuck off.

It was obvious even before Truss took over that he would be threatening her position from the off. Bring it on. Boris is the same hack that was here a few months ago with the same shocking approval rating. If it happens, Tories are choosing to get fly kicked in the nose (Boris) than fly kicked in the nuts (Truss). They are too blinkered to want to avoid the fly kick in the first place (Starmer).

It made me crack up some pro Boris Tory wanker on BBC yesterday arvi believing that Boris is the most feared choice for the opposition. They are just making it an only slightly more difficult job at the next election than if Truss was at the helm, but he’s not a candidate that the public will take seriously. I’m sure I’ll be told I’m overestimating the UK public in saying that, but I would be more concerned with a respected candidate like a Theresa May type.

The statements write themselves.

I have spoken to the Honourable Member for Uxbridge and he has assured me he has learnt the error of his ways after a long period of deep reflection. He got Brexit done and now he will move the United Kingdom forward etc etc…

My letter of no-confidence was warranted at the time but now etc etc…

What’s wrong with May? From a party devoid of talent or a moral compass, she’s the best of a bad bunch.

It was more the overestimation of the UK public but there is only one Theresa May and she was looking a bit rough last I saw her…

It took an entire summer during a cost of living crisis to elect Truss, which is truely deplorable given they are now looking to replace her within a week.

The whole lot of them are a disgrace.

I think he’s right. How and why are a completely different thing. Utter madness but I can see it happening.

I suspect that not actually calling for a confidence vote while Truss was there was a mistake. I know the fracking vote became one but really putting Tory MPs on the spot could have really created divisions. They are looking for a candidate that will unite them. Is that Boris?

What happens if Johnson becomes leader again next Friday only to be found guilty later of misleading the House ?

Sunak and Johnson should have a duel. Pistols at dawn and all that.
Then, when they’re both dead, we can have a general election and go back to normal.

News is reporting that Boris is flying back from the Caribbean to guage his level of support.

Let that sink in - MP Boris Johnson is currently relaxing in the Caribbean whilst the country crashes.

Nice work if you can get it.

He’s like a new signing.

Meanwhile…

I think if Johnson gets through the MP round of votes successfully and says he is running (rumour is he wont confirm until he has 100 votes in rhe bag and even then may not want the job given the deteriorating economic and political situation) then the 1922 committee will advise the members that he will not unite the party.

Should he win, a number of MPs have already said they will resign the whip and sit as independent, join Labour, or initiate a local election. In which case his 80 seat majority will disappear quite quickly.

Thanks , but notwithstanding all that , if he still had the brass neck to become PM (and I don’t think that’s in any doubt ) , as a parliamentary matter , would he still be forced to step down as an MP , and PM of course , for misleading the House as the ministerial code dictates , or would some kind of exception be cooked up to allow him to continue ?

That started a month ago after Dorries labelled it a coup by the left wing media.

How have we fallen so low?

That’s honestly quite encouraging. I can see Boris taking up the challenge given his ego but I’m truly encouraged that there are MPs that are willing to walk if it comes to pass. His reappointment would not be right on any level.

Nice to see he’s still representing Uxbridge with all his ability from the Caribbean or wherever during a government crisis.
