There is a general culture in Parliament of toxic sexual entitlement. The Tories are by far the worst, but there are problems in other parties too.
I’ve said it before but if any organisation of 650 people had this many members charged or accused of sexual impropriety, there would be police investigations and it would be closed down.
I asked the question on here a short time ago of naming one single thing that the conservative government has done in the last 12 years that brought widespread benefit to many people in the UK.
I’ve been trying to think of one myself in that time and failed.
I’m sure there are some but I honestly can’t think of any. I look at our public services, infrastructure, economy, industry etc. and honest come up with nothing. Every single thing appears to have gone backwards.
I neither like nor dislike Starmer, or Sunak for that matter.
I clearly don’t follow politics as closely as you, but from what I’ve seen over my many adult years, there’s not one lot any better than the other.
I’ve seen the bones of many pre-election manifesto’s from both sides, where all too often promises made were never delivered.
I’d assume most people cast votes based on lobbying, so when assurances dont materialise then I view that as downright deceit.
You never ever see a politician directly answer a question put to them either.
Those behaviours make all of them untrustworthy in my eyes.
There are obviously a section of the population who will vote Tory/Labour/SNP etc regardless of who is in charge, or what their promises/assurances have been.
At this moment in time, absolutely yes they’d do a better job…
But history has shown, they’ll renege on promises and within 6 months half the country will be asking your question in reverse.
Arguably they are Celtic Britons, while the English are Germani of the Angles, Saxon and Jute tribes. So the Welsh are arguably the real “British” , pushed back into Wales and Cornwall, unlike the English Germani invaders, such as they are
It’s funny when you go back in time.
Where do you get that from? The basic pay is roughly the same but a soldier will get a lot of extra benefits in terms of cheap accommodation, food and pensions. Hardly the life of Riley but they aren’t that badly off. It’s married servicemen who tend to suffer more.
