UK Politics Thread (Part 2)

Thank goodness for that :flushed:

She looks like she’s eaten a larger sized female host. Lefty crazed ideology.

Yeah I’m not getting it either. I know klopptimist hates fat people, he mentions it enough, but she’s not even that big anymore.

I don’t see how hating ‘fat’ people means the BBC has a lefty ideology?

Why in the world would I hate fat people? That’s not the point anyway. Once upon a time we had a thing called a role-model. Now we have inclusivity. Great.

i know tokenism and virtue signalling isnt a myth, i know it happens, i just dont see it here…if i want to be blatantly rude, id agree having a fat person hosting a cake show is probably appropriate.

but i digress…shes probably just good at the job?

She’s presenting a show about cake baking. I would have thought that looking like you are no stranger to the confectionery isle would be an advantage. Maybe that’s why Matt Lucas left after his weight loss?

So TV presenters should be examples of “perfect” human beings? Whatever that is.

This is just weird…

If obesity is no longer a problem in this country, then what’s the harm? Let’s have huge presenters on cake shows as it really gives people somebody to eat up to.

And look at all the boxes we can tick with one appointment.

Why on Earth have you got such a bee in your bonnet about this?

It’s totally inconsequential.

Just proving the BBC is “of the left”. I don’t care as I don’t watch the program. The constant mantra on here that the BBC is right wing winds me up, not the woman in question.

It doesn’t “prove” anything of the sort.

Absolutely it does. I’m using it as the basis for my upcoming edit of its Wiki page. “BBC confirmed to have far left agenda due to hiring a large middle aged lady”

Seems legit to me.

Well obviously you don’t. It’s been on Channel 4 for years.

It is a problem but Alison Hammond has lost a lot of weight since she first started appearing on TV. Well done her. And that kind of pops your little argument bubble.

Perhaps we shouldn’t have a cake program which promotes the use and consuming of sugar then?

Why is UK politics dominated by discussions about tv presenters?
Is it because everything else in the UK is so rosy that only tv presenters are an issue?

So you’re saying they’re trying to feed her back up? Harsh.

Once upon a time every other tv presenter liked to stick their penis in the mouth of children, but a fat woman hosting a cake show is where I draw the line.

I thought I was the arch-stereotyper here?

because when I look at a Conservative like Boris Johnson, I am minded of Athenian hoplites, lean and fit men of action. Role models. Obviously.

It’s only political insofar as it’s a weird display of right wing intolerance. She’s female, black, overweight and for some reason allowed to appear on our television screens.
