Rishi Sunak is not a ‘good politician’. He is an unserious chancer, with no answers to the big issues, and one eye on the real money to be made after leaving number ten.
He also has absolutely no authority over his party.

Blair was, by any objective measure, a very good politician. You don’t win three majorities without knowing your way around politics. I didn’t like him, but I didn’t like Thatcher either, and it would be churlish to argue she wasn’t very good.

Have to disagree. Given the ££££ behind him, he has no reason to be PM aside from trying to do it right. You might think that everybody is driven by greed and corruption but us on the right hope that there’s a more noble cause, a path that assists, helps, saves and maintains. Yes, the cynical can criticise but I see Rishi as possibly the second coming of John Wesley, do all you can etc.
Out of interest, what exactly has he done that you disagree with? Aside from clawing back the staggeringly badly defended Labour lead? It’s like watching Barcelona at Anfield currently.

Still astounds me how Brown was tarred with being at fault for crashing the US property market. Wouldn’t surprise me if certain people on here still believed that he was responsible for crashing the stock market and selling the UK’s gold for nothing.
If there is one thing the UK press and Conservatives are good at is painting a completely incorrect picture of someone and making it stick.
They’ve been gunning for Starmer since Day 1.
If Labour don’t win the next election (which is possible, if at this point unlikely) there will be bigger issues that our personal feud. Like how thousands of people are going to survive? What happens to our democracy?
