UK Politics Thread (Part 3)

Yes because the torrent of abuse the Tories have had on here (that has been deserved) can’t possibly be hurled back at the next government if deserved from day one?

If unemployment isn’t halved overnight, I’m jolly well going to have to write to the Telegraph.

And as for being pissed off, think it’s only going to be you mate. that’s what worries me.

Look at the percentage of all doses administered

I’ve dipped in and out of the COVID enquiry on a very casual basis. Even when following it that way, the stuff coming out from the enquiry is just incredible. The level of incompetence, mismanagement and to be honest, meddling (from Carrie Johnson for example) is just staggering.

Trying to backtrack. Lying bastard

This is the problem here. X has the right to absolutely bombard a state to smithereens but we need to make sure that the humanitarian aid flows in as well. Is it just me that thinks this is utterly fucking insane?

Kind of lawyerish definition of self defense I guess…

If deserved, yes.

But you’d have to be a fool to think what the Tories have done to this country over thirteen years can be undone in moments. It’s going to take the best part of a term for Labour just to stop things getting worse.

Nah, a decent government will have the country running like an atomic clock by lunchtime day after. Anything less is fair game.

Anyway in better news:

I wonder how much of the improvement in credit rating is down to the Tories opinion poll rating?

A very cynical and probably accurate assessment.

IF the party likely to win the next election had a vague clue about how to run the economy. There’s no question that the Conservative’s reign has been badly handled in the face of incredible world events. But Labour’s whole concept of financial management would have had us bankrupt years ago.

If they win it will be cash for hospitals, cash for schools, cash for governmental jobs, cash all round. Thatcher was right about socialism, sooner or later you run out of other people’s money.

Well that’s what has happened to the Tories.

Not entirely sure about that one. Although if they don’t leave a note on the new chancellor’s desk saying “good luck, you’ll need it” then they’ve missed a hell of a gag.

That’s the standard joke they leave. I think it goes back to Reginald Maudling leaving a note for Jim Callaghan saying, “Sorry old cock, to leave it in this shape”.

Then Labour spend 13 years banging on about it, pretending it wasn’t a joke

Yep, life is circular.

You’ll be at the front of the queue with your wallet open to pay?

What a real Labour Party would do is close the loopholes that enable businesses and wealthy individuals to legally reduce their tax returns. That way, working people wouldn’t have to face increased taxes.

What this bunch of Tory Lite shysters will do is anyone’s guess.

I heard it was binary!
