Just to clarify, you’re saying that the suspended sentence recently handed down to Huw Edwards, which, as demonstrated above, was entirely in accordance with the current sentencing guidelines, was imposed at the whim of the current Labour government?

The thing is we are in trouble. Much of the infrastructure of government, civil service etc is not fit for purpose - of a different age. Tribal politics will not fix it - whether left or right wing. It was also based on an economic model of the UK that is not longer there.
We need a national coalition and reimagining of who we are. Politics of envy or gesture will not do it. We also need to think beyond the next election in 4 years.
But none of that is why a lot of people are in politics. They want power, favor… a few really care.
