What?

Not even close to the claim, unfortunately. The best I can find is that Williams sourced the images for Edwards, but neither of them were involved in the actual rape.

ā€˜Under this governmentā€™?

Are you arguing that the Labour government has since July changed the sentencing guidelines without announcing it, or without anyone noticing?

On whatever basis youā€™re flogging this horse, you should stop and read more.

Agree with the outcome or not, it was the correct one as things stand.

Let me guess, youā€™d put a bullet in his head?

They did

So show me a source proving it? My Google skills are quite clearly inferior, so why donā€™t you show me where theyā€™ve made that promise?

Iā€™m inclined to believe Starmer met Meloni because sheā€™s the PM of one of the biggest economies in Europe and he has staked his future on growth. Lots of nodding and smiling, letā€™s see what happens with that ā€˜adviceā€™. Iā€™d wager nothing, and I said above it would be a huge mistake.

I agree completely with you on the Israel issue, but just donā€™t see any way through for him right now. The US and now two UK governments have painted themselves into a horrible corner on this issue, and the powerbase of pro-Israel forces in many western societies is going to prolong the misery for a while yet. Like @Arminius said in the ME thread, I see no hope anywhere, certianly not in a fledgling UK Labour government that would be snuffed out in an instant were it to touch that particular third railā€¦

Absolutely. He is meeting with other European leaders as part of a reset in relations following Brexit, it would be odd not to meet with the Italian leader. Any policy he brings in regards to economic growth, Security or immigration has to consider the views and actions of our european neighbours.

Unfortunately benefit of the doubt is wearing thin on this one.

Cue a twisted version where he called out the Tories for contemplating removing winter fuel allowance, but made it clear he would too.

Thereā€™ll be worse to come. Everyone is completely under appreciating quite how fucked the country is, and what is rolling down the tracks.

There is a reason why Rishi Sunak conducted the election campaign like a man who was desperate not to be Prime Minister.

I donā€™t see how thereā€™s a promise there.

Hypocrisy, potentially, although the argument would then be that means-testing means that the benefit would be kept for those who really need it. Although, Iā€™m not convinced it will reach all the people it needs to reach.

Nonetheless, thereā€™s no promise there, which was your original claim.

Fuck me, I hope for your sake youā€™re not like this in real life

Oi Britons, I heard you have a housing crisis :grinning:

What, you mean insisting that claims are actually backed up by evidence? Okay.

Recent case, Huw Edwards. Paid for photographs of child rape and was let off.

One? Bloke bought child porn, should we throw him under. combine harvester instead?

Yes under this government. You might have noticed theyā€™ve had time to strip pensioners of a winter fuel allowance but not enforce very simple legal ramifications for actions. Still, prisons are full and itā€™s somebody elseā€™s fault.

Iā€™m sure all of this made sense in your head but none of it makes any sense if you actually bother to understand how the system actually works.

Governments enforce legal ramifications?

I thought that was the courts.

My bad.

To whom are you speaking? If me, itā€™s strange I know but those who pay people who abuse children need shooting, along with the abusers. Is that complex? Difficult? Tricky to understand? At odds with human dignity? Against human rights? Or just basic fucking common sense?
