UK Politics Thread (Part 4)

That has to be the most surreal counter argument I’ve seen in a while I think.

Even if we got half of the £27bn you quote back in immediate trade it would be beneficial.

Seriously it’s arguing for the sake of arguing.

£100bn was quoted by another study done by Cambridge Econometrics, commissioned by Sadiq Khan, so your throwaway comment wasn’t wrong.

Cheers. I looked at Bloomberg for the figure but it’s kind of irrelevant. Its a big number and getting back into that market on any level would be beneficial for the economy. It’s just obvious and beyond dispute.

The argument industry is kind of lazy but has some validity. Our fishing industry has tanked thanks to Brexit for example. It doesnt have to be large scale manufacturing.

But this is also why i believe getting ourselves at the forefront of renewables or even nuclear SMR’s is important. Its something we can build on and create an industry that we lead in. That can be exported.

Sorry, you’re right. Bloomberg was the £100bn report.

Cambridge said the economy is £140bn smaller…

You would have more money, the country would be in a better state, and you would live in a more stable Europe.

Yeah, but other than that?

Yeah, but apart from that…

While failing to prove anything he has argued, what @lynch deftly proves is the old maxim that it’s incredibly hard to admit you’ve been conned.

He says that he’d still vote to leave. Why? What has got better as a result?

The country is poorer, more isolated and an altogether nastier place as a result of Brexit.

Did we get our sovereignty back? How did that work out for us?

Even if you are the kind of nasty thick cunt who voted leave to get rid of the foreigners, Brexit was a failure for you.

Or to be even more crass, the country has now imported even more brown people to fill up the gap caused by the disappearance of free movement.

USA people take note

Ha ha, you have no interest in engaging anyhow. You just side step and deflect. I pulled apart your points the other day, asked you questions and you haven’t responded. I still want to know how the one Green seat in Birmingham was a vote of the growing discontent towards Labour but the seat was decided before the General Election.

Look as long as you are happy believing in everything you say, then I am happy for you. Take care

At least I have provided facts.

I’m not arguing, I gave my honest answer to the OP but rather take on board my view you responded with incorrect facts. Correcting you is not arguing.

The Guardian report came from the ONS.

Again, why don’t you provide a link with factual content.

:joy:

I don’t have to prove anything. I got asked a question, I answered. You came up with some bull shit about Russian interference - without failing to prove anything - and you have the audacity to pull me up on it.

Did I vote to get our Sovereignty back? No, again another assumption from you and guess what, without any proof!

Do you feel better for telling me “Brexit was a failure for you”? How do you win from that statement? It just highlights the bitterness and resentment you have as an individual.

Have I been conned? Isn’t politics all a Con? Have you not been conned by voting Starmer on the back of change? How is that working out for you? Do you consider it a failure….no you don’t because it isn’t their fault :joy:.

You couldn’t pull apart an orange.

I’m on record here of saying it would take Labour more than a single term to sort out this shit, and there would be little they could do in five years, other than stabilise the country.

Do I regret voting for them? With the alternatives on offer, of course not.
