UK Politics Thread (Part 4)

I’m not being argumentative. I am just responding to your statements.

So, I quoted a snippet from a link you provided.

And you follow it up with the above….

I am not denying that Russia or any other country has hacked sensitive information, had intent to disrupt of influence UK democracy but the link you provided in you initial post stated that their attempts had not been successful.

Again, let’s just move on.

:+1:t2:

Thank you for providing a link that has literally no relevance to your original argument, and if anything demonstrates the weakness of the narrative you are trying portray.

AGAIN!!! I am not disputing that Russia, or other countries such as China, North Korea, Iran, etc are trying to meddle in other Countries affairs.
By providing links to some Welsh Reform leader being bribed to promote Russian interests, along with 2 people being charged with attempt of intent, as support is pathetic.
AGAIN!! The link you originally provided as support of your point stated

So… can you please clarify whether you stand by the above statement, taken from the link you provided in support of your argument?

If so, what’s your point and why use it? If not why use the link in the first place?

I am not “burying my head in the sand” and denying the credibility of Russian or an other countries interference in International politics. That would be stupid and almost as naive as blaming them for the reasons as to why people have voted Brexit, Tories, Republic, etc, etc.

This thread continually lambasts the above. Have you, or anyone on this forum considered that, for as Holy, Self righteous and condescending you maybe, you may not be right and that other people are entitled to have a different view, without being dismissed as stupid.
Was it not you who said….

I will leave you to your own words of wisdom.

Seriously, after all that crap, I’m not going to bother anymore. I’d have a more fruitful conversation with a tree.

Well, it would obviously depend on terms of that deal and how permanent that deal is viewed as being (a deal that may end following a change of government at the next election is less likely to see significant gains in trade/ investment than one that is supported by any party likely to govern in the UK).

But generally speaking, as countries do usually do most of their trade with neighbouring countries, and removing or lowering barriers to trade is known to boost trade, I think it is fair to predict it would lead to more trade and be of benefit the UK economy than not having a deal.

Good on her.

There are other ways to save the money necessary to bolster our defence spending.

Good to see there are still some politicians with integrity. The fact the Badenoch is dancing a jig in support of Starmer’s aid cuts tells us all we neeed to know

I’m surprised she knew what is going on.

I dont think I’ve ever seen such a poorly prepared politician which is mad condidering what we’ve been through over the last few years. She makes Farage look competent.

Not sure about that. Bozo is still hard to beat on that score.

You spelt Starmer wrong

Nope. I know how to spell.

I also know which PM has been the biggest embarrassment in the history of the country.

Nah. She wasn’t there long enough, and nobody took her seriously in the first place.

Rumour was that she was a stooge and, after she had flapped around for a couple of months, the plan was for Bozo to return as the bumbling saviour.

The fact that Bozo missed out on being the PM at the Queen’s funeral by 2 days was really rather wonderful.

I know!

Thing is she turns up to PMQ’s with what she thinks is a zinger of a question only to be told that it was a previous government policy or a person hired by them in the previous parliament.

It’s not as if Starmer isn’t an easy target either.

100% this. Do as much damage as possible.

How? NHS? Social Services? Education?

I would put up income tax…I can never understand why that is always sacrosanct. If everyone knew it was for defence or nhs I am sure there would not be the outrage that they think there would be…

You obviously haven’t been following the neoliberal agenda.

I agree with the neoliberals on one thing: income tax should be as low as possible. But there should be NO loopholes. And tax on unearned income should be far higher than it currently is and certainly far higher than PAYE tax on wages.
