UK Politics Thread (Part 4)

Really happy to have you back, Lynchy. You have been missed.

It’s because the money is gone that the social contract is in tatters, you dolt.

The end.

All of the drivel about brown people and boats and English and resources is just noise created by the rich to distract said dolts. This strategy is clearly effective.

And base our acceptance of immigrants and refugees on a single factor…can you say llanfairpwllgwyngythgorgerichwyndrobwythllantisiliogogogoch?

“Close enough. Welcome to Britain. Here is your PS5”

If that was the case , there’d only be about 10 people left in the UK…

And one of them would be that show off weatherman who nailed it🤣

Don’t you dare bring every Nain’s favourite, Derek into this.

We stopped off at the CO-OP there on the way back from Ireland. It really looks like they extended the shop to fit the place name on.

Blockquote

It is unfortunately a very very effective strategy at this particular moment in our personal period of history.

It isn’t new, it isn’t particularly clever; but it can now be applied in many new, clever and devious ways and it is working very well.

I believe everyone, white, black, brown, young old has at least a little angry scared bit of racism inside them. There’s nothing wrong with that.

But we can judge ourselves and our society by how well we manage that.

When you have a literal machine with unimaginable capacity and infinite attempts to try convince you to listen to that angry scared voice it is understandable that many succumb.

How do we maintain our management of our baser instincts under such a prolonged attack?

Something needs to change. And if that’s letting less people into the country I think I’m ok with that.

I’m not even pro immigration. I’m not even sure who is? I’m pro not being cunty to immigrants and also very very concerned about the rise of facism.

If implementing reasonably moral and legal approaches to letting less people in the country can achieve that then that is what I want my government to do.

I have no issues with controlling immigration. Weaponising it though.

Point to note. The world economy is driven by the need for growth, and an ever increasing debt cycle.

The UK is going the wrong way in terms of people that can create that growth cycle. Thats why every government wants immigration.

I know. In the immortal words of general Akbar “it’s a trap!”

We know it’s a trap. We understand the trap. Of course we don’t agree with the setting of trap…

How do we get out of the trap?

I’m not sure we do.

I also fear we won’t. I want to fight and I don’t know how to.

Maybe fighting won’t help anyway.

I don’t know anymore.

I would like to believe your words were sincere.

To be honest, I was surprised I got more than a broken sentence from you, so I do feel blessed.

So my petal, try answering the questions rather than trying to maintain your reputation of a Buffoon who likes to play up to your Avatar.

I asked @Noo_Noo why it is stretched/broken and all you can come back with is that the money is gone! If you are going to reply on someone else’s behalf try and answer the question.

To be honest all you do is shout loud with the popular narrative and expect your crowd to throw flowers at you in the form of likes. You do not actually add any form of intellectual debate to the conversation. Infact, all you do is detract.

So prove me wrong….

Why is the “social contract” broken? Why is there no money?

Why do you feel all this crap about Brown people arriving on boats is created by the Rich?

Try and actually answer sincere, no fucking 14years of Tory Austerity, blah, blah, blah, blah. These answers aren’t progressive it’s an excuse.

I completely agree with this. I know you are from a Construction back ground so I assume you notice similar things to me. For example, before the Commonwealth games the local bus stop got upgraded. They obviously got it wrong because it was replaced within weeks. Guess what, it is now being replaced again!!
Something that is not recognised is that the traffic it creates has a negative bearing on productivity.
I could scream about the wastage by Councils but whose fault is this? Who do you hold account? The contractors such as Balfour Beaty? The Architects over seeing it or the people signing it off at Council level?

Mate, you live a sheltered life. This is the problem, you sit in front of your lap top, no worries financially, a position of privileged and a self worth attitude where you believe you know best and can judge the UK/Worlds problems.

So are you telling me there are no parts of the UK where the majority cannot speak English? If you believe this you’re as naive as you are dumb.

Come for a day out in Birmingham, I will personally cover your expenses.

Mascot, if my response offended you then I apologise. It was definitely not my intention to insult, just my opinion.
If I call someone’s opinion out, I will do the honour of providing a basis rather than shutting them down. I expect the same, as do all posters. So as we are having this conversation in public, can i politely ask that both sides honour a right to freedom of speech/expression without being called a Dolt, Racist or RW.

Yes please keep it Civil, the majority of posters on this forum are here to engage in debate.
Its a text format board, some people including you and I may say things that may not be taken or understood in the context it what meant. No ones fault so maybe we can agree to be more understanding? Agree?

Your first point regarding “Language” for me wasn’t explained as a contributing factor. I mean you stated we held guns to peoples heads for them to speak English. That’s a bit of poetic license would you agree?

I cannot speak for anyone trying to enter the UK because I have no understanding/knowledge of their lived experience and nor does anyone else. Whether that be LW or RW.

I don’t know the rule on first safe country, etc. But I would see it as very unfair on countries who were the first safe country to shoulder the responsibility.
Yes, the UK does shoulder less of a burden in terms of Immigration numbers. But again it is a statistic which none of us know the complete picture.
Let’s look at it another way, if you are a Country like Germany which borders numerous countries you are the first step, so you are going to take in large numbers until they disperse to their destination of intent. So, for example Germany takes in 200k immigrants, but then 195,000 move onto other countries after applying for resettlement. It’s not providing correct figures and the figures only reflect people who apply for resettlement.

I really don’t believe the RW sells us the notion that Europe is taking the piss out of us. Maybe more of the LW trying to make it solely a UK issue.
I mean we have one moderately Right wing party with the Reform Party, yet France has Le Penn and its National Front, Germany and its AFD all far more RW.
Why is it that no one can give a reasonable answer as to why there is an ever increasing rise in support for Right leaning parties, concerns with Immigration? This is not a European problem, it is world wide.
All I ever hear is that it is the RW media propaganda, if so why are Labour so focused on the Boats and falling in line with the “alleged RW media”. Because it really is an issue, whether you believe it or not, whether it’s fair or unfair, it is an issue to the common person. Call them stupid, ignorant, racist what does it achieve? Fuck all!

A question, how long can you sit in a vacuum and blame everyone else? Believe you are right?
Iv said it before, who really are the Ignorant? Maybe, the ignorant are the ones who call others ignorant?
