I’m sure that I read that it was English-born voters, mostly in the east of Wales, who put Brexit over the line in 2016 in Wales. It’s a division that’s perhaps underexplored in our media.
It’s a single vote for a party with a purely proportional (d’Hondt) allocation of members. I think, just vote for the party you like best assuming that they will get at least 3% of the vote. It will be a coalition regardless.
The more prominent policies from them are:
- Scrap the 20mph. This is just stupid. £36m to put it in place. Probably £50m to remove it. Benefit?
- Fix the NHS. Umm not possible without fixing the NHS in England and looking at how Wales is funded. And I am a million miles from their talk of dipping into the private sector. Note Labour are doing this too.
- Immigration. Not controlled by the Senedd
- Prioritise social housing for “locals”. See above
- Newport bypass. Interesting one this. Something needs doing there. I’m not sure why Labour scrapped the scheme. So I need to do some research there.
- Help Welsh farmers. Not possible without rejoining the EU in my opinion.
- Scrapping renewable energy schemes. This is probably a massive economic benefit to Wales.
Note how the majority of their policies are negative.
There has been some Welsh language stuff too but the above are the main things they say so far.
Other stuff included reopening coal mines, Port Talbot blast furnaces and so on. All pie in the sky stuff.
I mentally incapable of seeing/hearing this borrowed phrase without thinking of the toaster from Red Dwarf…
But I am a toaster. It is my raison d’etre. I toast, therefore I am. If you don’t want any toast, why did you repair me?

One of my all time favourite Red Dwarf quotes, most recently used when my inept eldest teenager asked me which machine makes toast, the microwave or the toaster.
hope you told them it was the grill that makes toast,
just to really confuse them
A lot of posters on here think I am a dog. I’m not sure whether single purpose kitchen appliance is an upgrade.
The funny thing is that, when they wrote the sketch, an intelligent toaster was the silliest thing that they could think of. You can now buy WiFi enabled toasters. It’s still ridiculous.
Scrapping renewables is a benefit?
Chefs use a pan
Just sayin
Duh. Bad day.
Other way round. Renewables are an opportunity and benefit to Wales. Scrapping them leaves us with very little and we become a lapdog again.
Probably by intention.
Yeah I thought that’s what you meant.

Appointing Streeting would show they’ve learned nothing lol
He worries me a bit. Speaks well but is up to all sorts behind the scenes regarding private contracts in the health service. Plus the money coming in, lobbying, from various private health sources is crazy. Streeting is not alone in that.
The whole business is dirty as.
Streeting comes across as a real shyster. I can’t imagine anyone being swayed to vote Labour by him.
Tis a thorny crown tiered with layers of irony.
Repair the relationship until the next time donald spits the dummy over the slightest thing
Just spent a day in London.
I wore a burqa of course, so as not to upset the authorities and carried a quran to ward off Khan’s secret police. There was some sniggering.
I was shocked to make it to Hackney without being stabbed, and surprised to be allowed to eat a full English breakfast in a pub. I even drank a glass of wine!
The Londonistan revolutionary guards were extremely lax, allowing people to walk around normally and do usual stuff and the murderous gangs were probably on holiday or something, because I didn’t witness any violent crime at all.
The worst moment was when a woman with a push chair told me to get out of the way at a road crossing, rather rudely to be honest. Why wasn’t she immediately whipped?
I must say, the whole experience was quite confusing and unsettling.
I am out of the loop. I don’t know much. Care to inform me a bit if you have the time tomorrow ?
I am just curious ![]()
So again to remind you, my use of the statement Stats don’t mean anything, it was in regard to public perception of the Country being more dangerous.
If you recall you tried to justify it on RW Social Media algorithms.
Secondly, if you took the time to read the links @RedWhippet provided, you would see that the MET changed their reporting system from CRIS to CONNECT, and also their Methodology. Coincidentally, Knife crime stats drop suddenly at the time of the system’s inception, coincidentally a trend reflected by the other police forces using it.
Again, if you had read the links and bothered doing your own research, you would find there is a caveat made by the MET where they clearly say these “Stats” should not be compared to previous annual figures.
So hang on, the MET themselves state their Stats are not a true reflection…
Again, if you had bothered to do your own research you would find that their Methodology has changed. For instance threats of a Knife crime are no longer included.
Also, previously where there were multiple crimes in the same offence they would all be classed as a knife crime. Now they are counted separately.
Have you, or the Economists taken into consideration the massive fall in Stop and Searches, there is a Stat that suggests 1 in 4 result in a possession crime. Just because Knife crime may have fallen, how are the Stats for other crimes faring?
AGAIN a poster, debating in good faith, open to critical thinking and actually interested in providing substance to their ‘I know best’ smart arse comments.
So as I alluded to earlier in my posting, the Voting stats for Brexit, Trump, Tories for 14 years of Austerity, are all “STATS”, yet for years you have contested them, tried to justify them.
The problem is that you are so keen to prove people, whose views don’t align with yours wrong. It seems you find it more rewarding than actually engaging in critical thinking. To you, everything that is wrong with the world a result of the RW parties and Media. Yes, they say somethings which are ridiculous and they should be challenged, not dismissed. This also goes with LW Parties and Media, just because their views align with yours, it should not stop you questioning them and holding them to account. It doesn’t mean you are Anti Labour for holding them to account.
I haven’t had time to read your response to my post, so there maybe some cross over.
