Case in point about people not accepting the failure it was / is.

Ok you can have the housing one but remember post brexit the pound tanked and attracted lots of foreign investors into the housing market.

Job losees, I’m quoting actual figures. 40k lost in the financial sector NOT banking alone. 1.8 million jobs that simply don’t exist anymore. Now there maybe other jobs and some moving round but you’re trying to tell me that 500k job losses is ok?

The uk services industry is huge and very widespread which has made it quite resilient. The banks took a hefty hit on the day of the referendum result though and despite what you say banks did move operations to Europe after the vote.

My point on the emergency budget thing is post brexit you had a government that was basically constantly fighting to keep its head above water after the vote and years of austerity while at the same time hiding everything and psinting a pretty picture. At the end they even resorted to possibly illegal measures to hide it. It complety screwed the uk economy and we’re paying for it, while Rees-Mogg and the Barclay’s avoid paying taxes that under EU laws they would have had to pay.

Actual @redalways has gone to far greater detail and a better explanation

Firstly no. People were conned. Simple as. Brexit and more recently the US election were the biggest grifts in history.

Climate denial will be the next one.

Secondly I haven’t called anyone those things.

If you cant see that or maybe are unwilling to accept it makes it really difficult to rectify the issues resulting from it.

I call everyone fuckwits, for the simple reason that we all are.

@The-Red-Chaparral

I have deleted your post as it referenced a Twitter account chock full of conspiratorial nonsense, climate denial, antisemitism, racism and hatred.

This is the second time I have had clean shit out of this thread. Everyone needs to start being more careful about links posted.

Thanks to @JU97ICE for ripping this bullshit to shreds, but it shouldn’t be posted in the first place.

Nobody gives a fuck about ‘technically’.

It’s great that you can pluck some examples of specific warnings issued by such beacons of honesty as George Osborne that didn’t quite come to pass.

It doesn’t change the fact that the general position of the Remain side - that we would be much worse off as a country and individually - have devastatingly come to pass. Whereas the position put forward by leave - that we would all be better off as a result - proved to be untrue.

And in the case of leave, the speed with which these fuckers backtracked on their bold assertions the morning after the referendum suggests to me that they knew exactly what they were doing.

I am disappointed with myself for missing that.

Some people were conned over BREXIT, some people were conned over the US election. But these results are not down to fools believing evidential nonsense.

Don’t think I’ve ever given the real reason I voted to leave. It has nothing to do with immigration, finance, NHS, trade, travel etc. Something far more fundamental. Don’t think I will either. I was leaving before the referendum was announced. It was always going to be a shit show. The pound was going to tank and Europe would hold our feet to the fire to get anything better than scraps afterwards.

But I get to buy straight bananas now, joyous.

So you voluntarily voted to impose economic sanctions and hardships on yourself and the uk population in exchange for what exactly?

Of everyone that voted to leave how many i wonder would say that? Not many I suspect. But if asked them now they’d nod obeyingly instead of admitting to the fact they were conned.

Anyway, you’ve nentioned the main topics for supporting leave and has resulted in every one of them failing to be resolved. Wonder why?

Maybe because it had fuck all to do with the EU in the first place.

The upcoming vote on the government legalising the slaughter of defenceless old people / the fabulously merciful easing of the final suffering of the dying (not to polarise the debate) brings up an interesting point I think. Should a politician vote on the basis of the majority of the feelings of their constituents or their own personal beliefs in a free vote? When a potential MP wants votes, they don’t tend to bang on about their religious views, their personal beliefs (beyond the usual rhetoric) and their morals, instead they go after local matters to gain votes. Getting votes based on what the majority of the people want. Therefor, shouldn’t they vote (effectively for us) based on what the majority want?

Easy one for me, my MIL died in horrific circumstances having her mobility then dignity then sight then hearing then mind robbed by a vicious brain tumour. She had a living will, had “do not resuscitate” tattooed across her chest and made it quite clear she wanted it over quickly.

We don’t let pets suffer, to put a pet through this would have the RSPCA and Police knocking on your door but our loved ones have to suffer.

Legalise it now and end the pain.

Two separate subjects I now, have fun

For once, I agree with you about something in the politics thread.

I must be coming down with something.

If it’s terminal we should be able to speed it up in a week or two hopefully.

Their own personal beliefs , that is the entire point of the governing party in granting it.

That being the case, should we vote for MPs purely based on their own personal beliefs? What if a voter is a staunch anthiest and a member of the Labour party but their local MP Labour candidate is a crazed religious zealot? Tricky, no?

The party system is supposed to “collect” like minded people. It doesnt. The politucal system has become a bipolar set up which really doesnt represent the majority everywhere.

You’ll never catch it all but we’re miles off.

Kier probably the biggest fraud and liar of all time.

Wow! That’s an extraordinary statement. Especially as Boris Johnson’s odour still haunts number ten.

It’s OK. @JohnBarnes10 has his memory wiped after every prime minister.

Boris made me laugh today with his comment police the streets not the tweets. People getting put in prison for Facebook comments is a fucking joke and releasing real criminals to make room. My country is nearly as bad.
