UK Politics Thread (Part 4)

Quite a few people were that didn’t realise what they were protesting about. Although I don’t recall seeing Andrew Lloyd Webber on a tractor.

I think for Kaleb’s case, being charitable, he knew what the protests were about, but these effects you’re talking about are more second-order effects so it’s not something he would have made the connection to. A bit of the classic voting against their own interests theme.

I did think that there would be more of a protest if land prices were brought down as there must be a fair few farmers who would be happy to give up and cash in their land. I know this has happened a lot in Germany.

I’m not sure what the Labour agricultural policy is. They have some vagaries about food security and reducing trade barriers, but it’s not clear which direction they are heading in. I think they also mentioned something about eradicating Bovine TB, but again there were few details.

I remember the bovine TB bit because my brother-in-law was one of the scientists who did the original research into the relationship between bovine TB and badgers.

They largely ignored their findings because the NFU knows best…

Amazing what you find when you dig a little

That’s not even close to the actual figure siphoned to UK.

Fair enough :+1:t2:.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I think the Tory candidate was someone other than James Wallis but it’s all informative.

You are another level. Strange, that you didn’t include the ‘post of yours’ that I quoted, to provide context. I guess you wouldn’t do that, because it would highlight how you have back tracked on your original comments and how you are now trying to manipulate the behind them.

Guess what, I am going to quote you again.

Notice the “Not true” comment at the beginning of your response. You have straight away shut down @Dane on the basis of your opinion, no facts to support this, yet you claim you want people to challenge views fairly.
“Taxing farm inheritance and public schools is essentially targeting the wealth that the super rich can’t offshore.”
Can you not see what your statement implies? whether intended or not.
But ‘obviously’, I am just ‘thick’ or ‘acting in bad faith’ because you have only now, tried to justify your statement.

Please don’t try and disrespect me here.

Why have you not included Mascots comments, in your quoting of my post?

Your defence of what Mascot said, is not relative. That is not the point he made or the point I am challenging him on.

not really bothered if you take offence by this, as my feeling is that im not alone here… @Mascot , @Lynch04 , @redalways …you guys have derailed the thread

i honestly think the three of you should go back to your corners for a week or so, your now debating about debating about what you meant in your debate…

maybe we could get back to UK politics?

Hey don’t lump me in with that, I’m just focusing on the facts here…

Suits me. There is only so many times you can say “yeah, that’s not what I said or even wrote”.

It’s amazing that this grifter has somehow managed to convince poor people he is on their side. The parallels with Trump are uncanny.

And I wonder how those that voted for him in Clacton feel?

I’m trying figure out what he wants the UK to look like, if he hypothetically got his way with everything he keeps spouting about.
