So, Starmer announces his +15 billion plan for the strenghtening of the defence. My question: how much of this eye-watering amount will directly go into US arms factories? Anyone knows?

The incremental 15 billion is on top of substantial spending (last year was around £60B). About half of the baseline is in programs with major US participation, directly or indirectly - the F35 being one of the largest. The 15B is actually going to bring that average down, because much of it is shipbuilding to be done in the UK. However, even those projects will use many American components.

I am not actively arguing against anyone, I am just debating a point you raised which is completely different. It was you who took it to an extreme, that all young people cannot believe in owning their own house or something to that extent. I just used examples of people/sections of society who owned their own future, chose to believe and didn’t listen to people like you who said it can’t be done.
Life is full of challenges and I whilst I find it admiral that you are concerned about the prospect of our future generations, I just find words mean nothing without actual understanding.
Look all I did was provide two constant variables which was the nationality of the directors and the business names.
The problem is, that like other issues most people are more inclined to make it about LW/RW, is it racist? rather than actually reflect on the actual issue.
Why have we not actually discussed the issue? the ease of setting up a business, becoming a director and avoiding your responsibilities by loop holes? The piss poor systems of the HMRC where Phoenixing is rife, people can avoid being held to account by slight of administration.
If Fraud is being committed by a certain demographic, whether this is by nationality or regional area (London/Midlands/merseyside) etc, then it is a constant, yes or no? If the businesses fronting this crime all had similar names it would be a constant, yes or no?
So if one of these businesses were guilty of Fraud, had linked directors would it not be reasonable to investigate the others?

I actually find your words more poignant. The majority of posters on here know nothing about the other posters situation. In a PM with another poster on here, our differences were mentioned. But that is all it is, differences. We all want the same result but have different opinions of how we get there.

Could it be that, Europe on the back of the World Wars, where they accrued big debts which were predominantly financed by the US played little brother, to the US. In other words you protect us and we will fall in line.
You seem to have this fascination bordering on obsession with LW / RW thing.
For me it’s Up Vs Down and also how our whole system is basically failing people. All the while it seems to be working remarkably well for a few people and some very big organisations.

Do you not see I only refer to the LW/RW because it is constant denominator in almost everyone’s reply. It is ridiculous and you will see I have criticised this outlook.
How many times have my posts been judged/dismissed as RW? why is the Media commonly referred to as the RW media? By your own words you recently called out Starmer as being RW. Every life problem is passed off as RW on this thread.
The other day I tried to engage in a discussion and at the first mention of a minority nationality I was called out as Racist. Would I have been called out if they were Scottish?

So the individual in question, who has a criminal history, is claiming Asylum. The article doesn’t state on what grounds, but let’s checkout Companies house….
So his identity was verified by an authorised corporate service provider (ACSP) which is supervised by HMRC.
Yet, if you look through the verifying companies history, you will see a continuous trend of multiple businesses registered at the same address, similar names. Constant switching of directors. Infact, one of the current directors, actually had their identity verified by their own company!! Whilst being the active Director.
Referring back to the original individual, why is it, that an individual claiming Asylum, is suddenly transferred all shares in two companies? Surely there should be a system that flags these transactions?

Director again verified by an ACSP, the verifying companies director is listed as British but with a name of similar heritage. The individual themselves was verified by another ACSP again with the same heritage.
My focus on this is not aimed at Nationality, it is just highlighting the obvious and exposing the flaws in the system.
Maybe we can acknowledge this, maybe engage in sensible debate or maybe we can dismiss it and focus on it being racist 
What would you suggest? London is regarded as one of the money-laundering centres of the world. It’s not just the Russian Laundromat (which has been somewhat curtailed by the war in Ukraine) but anyone wanting to set up a front company for dirty money will head to the UK as the first port of call.
One of the big attractions of anyone coming to the UK is its lack of a formal identity system, and the ease at which identities can be stolen or completely fabricated. Whenever a suggestion is made to tackle this, the same old voices start complaining about a police state and their rights being violated.
So essentially, you are stuck with this.

I think there is still some value in understanding things as left wing or right wing, as pertains to economic strategy, although that signifier is becoming less useful as political divides become more robustly aligned along your attitudes to authoritarianism, tolerance, susceptibility to disinformation, contrarianism etc.
Nigel Farage is undoubtedly right wing, and hard right for that matter. This is not a comment on his opinions on race and immigration. It’s purely about his economic agenda, which is based on aggressive privatisation, deregulation and monetarism.
I don’t think many of his supporters are right wing in the traditional sense, and I would be surprised if many of them really understood Reform’s economic agenda. And if they do, they have decided they are happy to let Nigel privatise the NHS, remove their in work protections and safeguards, and allow capitalism to trample all over nature and environment, if that’s what it takes for some performative cruelty towards immigrants.

I do think the whole right wing left wing thing is quite outdated in describing modern views, though of course it has some basic function for describing parties vaguely.
I am right wing on stuff like immigration, tradition, societal discipline and punishment, but I´m very left wing on certain economic and social topics. So would I call myself right wing? arguably not.
It´s basically a matrix rather than a line.

I’d say that a lot of traditional Labour voters actually fit (at least vaguely) that description, particularly from Trade Union affiliates. I have seen political ideologies displayed on an economic left-right (capitalist-socialist) spectrum with a separate liberal-authoritarian axis.

I agree with the Greens on certain things and people like Gary Stephenson to some kinda degree. I agree with Rupert Lowe on many things. Farage less so but probably some things. With Labour some things - I am from a very traditionally Labour, working class place.
Which for me also makes it more annoying that discourse breaks down and descends into name calling. There is always some common ground to be had.
Bit random but I matched with some pink haired feminist type on a dating app a few days ago and kinda pigeon holed her as left wing. She was was actually a mix of left and right and very open minded. So I guess I´m as guilty as others of adhering to the LW RW idea.
