I really do not see why the hatred of success? Sure billionaires need to pay more tax I get that. But anyone who has done well and bettered them selves suddenly becomes “rich” in the eyes of the left. (While they buy second houses and avoid tax). Is it jealousy? Its an outdated dogma from the days of working class and gentlemen and hereditary land ownership etc.

I don’t know what to suggest, which is why I was hoping a discussion would take place on the back of the original post to which I replied.
I suppose the first issue would be having the resources to tackle this.
As I referred to, there has been a new unit set up to tackle this crime.
I suppose it’s a start so it just depends on if they have a plan, that it’s not going to be scraped in a couple of months and importantly how the various agencies communicate.
I am aware that this is not a new issue and I am in no way suggesting that British people are innocent of abusing the system. Regarding the Nationalities of the Mini marts, it could be that their identifies had been fraudulently used.
I seen a stat that this form of Fraud costs the UK economy £50bn annually. So it is not going to be a quick fix.
I guess my main issue at this level is when it is being carried out in plain site and using the same repeated tricks.

So one of the shops in Bham, was fined and closed down but it wasn’t.
Police report say it was closed but they removed the application as the Landlord kicked them out.
The report says it was against Boss Mary (BM) 4, but the signage in the photo clearly states BM 3! It is the right shop I grew up in the area - will refer to this later.
So Companies House on BM 4 states it was dissolved in Oct 25.

So the Director has managed to have 2 separate non-linked Directorships purely on a missing comma.
And to take the piss further, he registered the business at the original address. Infact over the course of the last 2 to 3 years numerous businesses have been registered at the same address.

Finally, do you remember the police report showed BM3 in the photo. Well guess what the same bloke who started trading after BM4 was dissolved has opened up another Mini Mart titled Shirley Mini Market and guess what Companies house don’t link the two. It’s literally 100m walk away from previous shop.
It has taken me less than an hour to find the information and there is lots that I have left out. Like why was BM3 forced to relocate even though it was a different business/director?
These type of shops are committing multiple offences.
Fraud/Money laundering, selling illegal goods including supply of drugs, selling to minors, slave Labour.
There are then the other attached crimes, like the machete attack that happened outside BM3/BM4.
I appreciate that London maybe the money laundering capital of the world and has a history of a lot of Russian money being cleaned by turning a blind eye.
Without trying to operate a two tier policy, these local “businesses” are affecting numerous communities nationwide, directly and witnessed daily. When they see no action or just them being moved down the road, under a new business name, it can lead to frustration and the impression that their voice is not being heard.
What can we do? Like I said, I don’t know.
Some suggestion’s and I say this without understanding the complications/practicality of carrying it out.
Maybe Directors need to vetted by this new approach of having ACSP validating them. But maybe Authenticity is done in a face to face.
This could allow for Biometric identity, hopefully stoping people being authenticated by changing their additional names around - maybe the Digital ID could cover this.
It looks like the Directors, despite using different names have the same registered birthdate. Maybe this could be used to see associated names.
Maybe, there should be a system that flags an address that is commonly being used to register a business. Likewise, notice trends of directors who move between businesses on a regular basis.
Maybe they should be subject to a number of spot checks in their first 12 months.
Companies validating the directors should be audited if this is the new practice.
I suppose to repeat myself the honest answer is I don’t know. But at least we seem to be talking about it more on a National level.

That sounds on the low side, to be honest. I was involved in investigating a few fraud cases when I was working in government departments (essentially supplying evidence to the police). In many cases, the culprits were serial offenders, simply hiding behind a family member or, more commonly, the complete lack of checking by companies house.
You only have to think how easy it was for wholesale fraud during the Covid pandemic. In those cases, it was often simply a case of using a spouse’s name or a mate at the pub to hide the true identity.

Did it not? She rebuilt the country and changed our standing in the world. Sure some people suffered. But the unions did need trimming.
I get the hate but you have to look at maybe the last government to have a big view, change the country, do not pander to opinion polls.
Hindsight hates her but she won a lot of elections.

True, hindsight is a wonderful thing. Problem I have is many of today’s difficulties can be pointed directly at her policies. For example.
Privatisation of oil, energy, water and so on.
Right to buy and our housing crisis.

Think you’ll find that was the chinese…
I spent most of my working life in manufacturing and we spent the last 30 or 40 years fighting them off. They were constantly copying and undercutting products as soon as they realised there was a decent market for them. They were quite open about it and would appear en masse at every exhibition and trade fair.
In the end we closed production lines and got the products made over there anyway. They could sell them and ship them to us much cheaper than we could make them. I found that hard to stomach.

There’s probably an endless list of things to criticise her for, and I’d never attempt to try and offer justification for the extremes she went to.
But, look at the absolute shitshow she inherited.
Yeah it was a bit of a mess with some issues similar to those we face today.
Trouble is, we can’t sell anything, we’ve already sold it, we can’t do right to buy again, and tax hikes are frowned upon. Slashing services is probably not a great idea either. All things she did.
We could join the single market again I guess. I wonder how well that will go down?
Some of the alternative proposals by opposition parties appear interesting and include nationalising certain industries etc. I don’t think we have much room for that option now either.
