its live here with Trump with a big lead…im not watching a news feed or opinion coverage…just a score ticker

im assuming the early Trump lead isnt indicative of how the whole race will turn out?

thats how i remember it from years past i think…

Tbf, I respect the fuck out of this guy. He seems to know which counties received what percentage of the vote 2 elections ago, and the socio-economic reasons behind it. There must be thousands of counties in the USA.

Generally yes as mail in ballots arent counted yet, its what Trump based his narrative on

Usually the rural counties are faster at counting/reporting too

It’s called the red mirage, it will slowly disappear step by step. That’s what I read :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s always like this, breathe… It’s close, as expected tbh

Australia is far from the US

Too little data in yet so don’t get caught up in the ā€œTrump leadā€. It isn’t. A lead it is just an artifact who counts their votes first.

But…exit polls about Hispanic men is awful

Australia now has Steakhouse Steak in McDonald’s which used to be only in the UK.

Congratulations

Lisa Blunt Rochester is a terrific name.

NBC announced that result immediately after discussing the likely failure of the Florida marijuana legalization amendment

Not politically

yes it is…

i mean, its not scandanavia…but its not the US…

Just so I am clear: You take the popular vote for the state and you take the EC votes correct? That would be why Kornacki is comparing last election’s county percentage vs KH’s county percentage? For those super close states, the % gain or loss for Trump or Dems vs last election even in their stronghold counties could help forecast the state’s result?

Yeah. The comparison to last time are to standardize for which counties have their vote counts in…it’s about projecting how much likely vote is still out there not yet reported

Concerned by stuff like this:

Donald Trump is the first GOP presidential candidate to win Florida’s Miami-Dade county since George HW Bush in 1988, the New York Times reports.

Analysts have been keeping a close eye on the county, which includes the city of Miami and was once a Democratic stronghold. Hillary Clinton won Miami-Dade by a 30-point margin in 2016, but the area has since moved right as Florida has transitioned from a swing state to a solidly red state. With 95% of votes in as of around 8.45pm, Trump had won 55% of the Miami-Dade vote compared with Harris’s 44%.

Joe Biden beat Trump by seven points in 2020J in the state’s most-populous county. Some pundits have said the Miami-Dade result could be a bellwether for Harris’s performance among Latino voters.
