US Teams, MLS, and CONCACAF

Jokes aside, these MLS focused international windows are usually pretty pointless given the number of players they now have playing in Europe and the importance of those players. But it probably wasnt a bad thing for Poch to get first hand exposure to the best of the rest of the players in his pool, very few of whom I’d imagine he’d be familiar with. I don’t imagine too many of these players will be important for him next summer though.

I’ve noted that Trump is now 0-3 since he became President and notable international sports tournaments.

Maine’s first ever pro soccer team, Portland Hearts of Pine, played their first game today and won 4-0 in the US Open Cup.

I had tickets to go but had to have a visit to the emergency room instead after developing a pilonidal cyst !- which sucks both in missing the game and that I have been in absolute agony for about 5 days now.

By the way Hearts of Pine have one of the nicest jerseys I’ve ever seen…

I always said you were a pain in the arse!

Seriously, though, I know how painful those can be. Hope you feel better soon.

Get well soon, mate :palms_up_together:

Also, that jersey is…umm…not the nicest.

Maybe you have to see it in person, it’s a thing of beauty.

US losing in back to back games against Panama and then Canada. Karma.

Hope they play Greenland next.

Panama’s late goal to beat the US was quite something - the emotion from the Panama crowd was something to see. But the highlight was Waterman (the scorer) running into the end zone open commentary area to celebrate with Thierry Henry, a personal hero.

It was amazing. Henry looked like he went from thinking he was being attacked to absolutely loving it.

tomorrow night, CONCACAF Champions League. Inter Miami coming to town, friend has offered me 4x tickets @ $100 each in the nosebleed section. face value is $150, still no word if Messi will actually show up for this match.

That said, with my son being only 10 is it worth taking him on the chance he gets to see Messi play in person before he retires? Tough question…

I went to us play Barca at Wembley and he was shit.

Though I will as an old fucker drop it in conversation in 40 years time.

In 40 years time I’ll just be making up my stories…

I remember when I saw Messi play after he came to the MLS. He was good, but he had nothing on Jeppe Tverskov. Now there was a player

really the big draw for me is watching Suarez play in front of 50,000 at BC Place. we don’t usually get those size crowds here, especially the noise. my son didn’t come to Anfield with me 6 years ago and that was Huddersfield with the just-opened main stand.

Yeah Suarez play about 3-4 times he absolutely shone.
