Thought big Virg had his best game today since his injury, defended on the front foot and also put in a proper tackle, long may it continue

He had more tenacity to his game yesterday, it seems after missing out on the Euros he didn’t want to miss the World cup and may have been holding himself back???

Still far away from what we know he can do.

He’s marshalled defences on his own, defensively as unit last 2 games have been just as bad as the previous 14.

Took his goal nicely.

Liverpool FC — In numbers: Virgil van Dijk’s five years with Liverpool
To mark the fifth anniversary of Virgil van Dijk officially becoming a Liverpool player, club statisticians Ged Rea and Dave Ball provide a numerical review of the Dutchman’s Reds career to date…
70 – Van Dijk holds the record of most successive home Premier League games without defeat with a single club. He broke Lee Sharpe’s record of 59 matches and went on to set a new best of 70 before the loss to Leeds United in October

204 – He has made 204 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, starting each and every one of those fixtures

76 – Van Dijk was ever-present in the Premier League in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, playing all 76 top-flight fixtures when Liverpool amassed a combined total of 196 points and finished second and first respectively

21 – In 2019, Van Dijk was named PFA Men’s Players’ Player of the Year after helping the Reds keep 21 clean sheets in 38 Premier League games and also became the first defender to be voted UEFA Men’s Player of the Year

8 – In the poll for the 2019 Ballon d’Or, he went within eight votes of beating Lionel Messi to the award, receiving almost a quarter of the total votes cast

38 – Van Dijk has captained Liverpool 38 times and wore the armband for the first time in the 4-0 home win over Red Star Belgrade in October 2018

84 – Joel Matip is Van Dijk’s most regular centre-back partner, with the two having played 84 times together under Jürgen Klopp

Out with a hamstring injury according to Joyce.

What’s the worse we can expect on that? Hopefully back for the CL, first expected doesn’t mean it’s massively bad, as any hamstring would mean a spell.

And the hits keep on coming, what a horrible season.

Is it too late to null and void?

Least it’s Wednesday so won’t have to wait long to know how long. Wish the press wouldn’t release half the information mind.

Many reports saying rest of the month…could be bit longer and up to 6 weeks.

That’s ok then, CL return.

Doubt he would have played against Wolves anyhow.

Might be beneficial for Matip and Konate to have a few games together.

Luckily we play only once a week until the end of February. We all know what will happen if Matip has to play Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday week in week out. :scream:

No worries…

Steven Caulker just became a free transfer a few days ago…stars are aligning.

Rumours has it FSG would still only sanction a loan move.

God we are cursed.

The way he’s been playing this season, it’s no big loss.
