War in Iran : Trump's latest misadventure

Yes, and it’s not the only one. But that is the latest one. I read about that too. It was quite the shock. NATO is not prepared for a peer-war against a some what dangerous opponent who have nukes (which means you cannot use air power like the US likes to use it). That has been clear for a long time.

Obviously, NATO would win (with the US at least), but cost would be way higher than most assume, and there would be a few months where truly harsh lessons would be learned (before adjustments).

I’ll fathom to say that Iran’s ballistic missiles are still present. How quickly can the patriots be replenished ?

Better get the regime change done well under then as otherwise , this is going to be a huge clusterfuck.

US has used, by yesterday’s count, 4 times as many as they have sent to Ukraine.

They might be some other systems(planes, guns, counter drones etc) that would have shot them those drones too. But either way, still very unsustainable. While the Americans were naive to enter this war, they did have the advice of the Israeli’s who are well used to fighting close quarter warfare).

Even if say 10 predator missiles were used per day and the rest all were other warfare methods , the math of Iranians attacking with 300-400 drones per day still stands.

The longer this goes on , the more chance do Russians and Chinese have of getting their supplies through.

Yeah, if Iranian attacks by Heavy Drones (Shaheed is no joke, it is large) continues, they will adapt soon.

You need to note that US does of course, use jets to shoot down drones, as does allies. Point is just that a lot of patriots have been launched. US is not going to be running dry for quite a while. Iran isn’t a problem.

China is (regarding depleted arsenal).

The other problem is of course that it is a total waste of money, but that is less problematic than depletion of arsenal.

Sinking a ship, particularly without warning,is a crime but then again when did TRUMP GIVE A FUCK ABOUT LAWS !

I feel like you, it is extremely disasteful (which is why I posted and highlighted it). But the crime is the launch of war, not sinking the ship. It is legal to sink a war-ship without warning.

It’s just that this seemed incredibly unecessary when it comes to loss of life and etc.

Just to clarify: It is not a War Crime.

With out a war being declared it is unlikely to be legal..And leaving people to drown even then,is against the law of the sea,the point always being next time it might be the other way around, then a price may be paid.

There is/was a RTS game called Starcraft/Starcraft 2 which i sometimes play. I always was a Terran player and the strategy mostly was to use Siege Tanks for ground defense, Turrets for Air defense and then bunkers. The logic is that the opponent always has to use overwhelming force to break through those lines especially if people are well entrenched.

Looking at how quickly the resources are being used in this war by the US, I doubt the tacticians of the US army heard the concept of RTS games let alone playing it. It comes down to resource management.

Wars are almost never declared anymore. I think Israel declaring war on Hamas is one of the very few war declarations in recent times.

There were enough warnings given that a military action was being seriously considered. No one comes and declares that we’ll be attacking this country on 10am and cost them the element of surprise.

Who would have Sukhois in that region?

Iran has/had a few.

Extreme doubt that Turkey was the target, but overflying Turkey is unwise. Then again, there are vital NATO bases in Turkey, but surely there must be limits to Iranian insanity as well, so doubt they were targeted.

Well that was at least some aggression and what you call a war.

Iran has good fleet size in terms of numbers. Most of them are old aircraft though.

Around 60 sukhoi (IRGC included)
