Interesting posture. Arminius may be right that they will greatly escalate. As long as they manage to calibrate it (Hezbollah famously did not) and avoid forcing the US to invade, this may work out for them given the US political reluctance to escalate anywhere close to enough, and de facto entrapment the US therefore finds itself in.

That’s only helpful militarily for hitting dug in nuclear and missile sites and was mentioned before the war began and right after, as something one might have to consider. But now, lol ? For what ? The negative value of using tactical nuclear weapons for such a purpose is probably higher than the operational gain, I note.

There has been rumours that Iran is considering (and certain people in Iran certainly is, the question is just how many, how positioned and how decided) invading Kuwait. They have the capacity to invade Kuwait in theory. In practice too, but there are obvious negatives as well.

Well, Wednesday is all booked up for a major escalation of trade friction with Canada, which is usually a Tuesday thing. Thursday will probably be a meltdown about US debt (critical auction Wednesday). So the week is really a mess, will be hard to fit an Iran TACO in.

If we are talking about the Iranian nuclear program deep below the surface I find it hard to see how even a tactical nuke would help. Except that the fall out would possibly be troublesome. If conventional means can’t do it a nuke isn’t going to change that, in fact probably even less efficient/effective.
Trump is just mastering how the send the wrong message.
