The thing which pisses me off is (yeah I know the popular vote was even won by Trump this time) that the American election system which is by itself flawed basically enables the likes of Trump.
Democrats are toothless mainly because of their issues in finding candidates where suitable candidates like Bernie Sanders don’t get in to the system (super delegates)
And there’s a whole" let’s fuck around and find out " bunch of irresponsible wankers who don’t realise the importance their vote carries.
I still feel angry towards a lot of American people. Your faulty election system , the democrats fucked up superdelegate system , the weightage of points , the lack of coalitions , the us or them issue , the lack of consensus between both the parties. This makes America a flawed democracy. And then the whole supreme court rulings on Abortion rights , Guns etc etc
And this morally corrupt country gets to swing their big dick around acting like the moral policeman of the world.
Doing regime changes as per their whims and fancies. Destabilizing stable governments because their leaders won’t give you what you want.
At this point , this is not just about Trump. It’s the fact that America does what America wants to no matter who the leader is. If the leader has some ethics about him , it’s a good time for the world. Otherwise if he’s someone like Dubya or Trump, then the clusterfucks start happening
Indians. The accents vary a lot in India.
I wonder if the “haltered” people feel for America is more a kin to the way people feel about “very rich people?
Important context that CNN is missing out here is that Al Udeid is essentially empty at the moment. The article makes it sound like there are 10,000 troops there now.
Not just rich people.
Just to clarify, the implication being:
Outwardly: Yeah they’re horrid
Secretly: I wish I was them
Yeah, outwardly and inwardly I give thanks every day that I’m not from the United States.
There are a lot of wealthy people that I admire, and some that I dislike. The same goes for poor people too, but I wouldn’t like anyone who arrogantly struts around the world causing conflict and pain just in order to enrich themselves.
Not if it means doing the things we see so many of them doing.
Maybe to further clarify. I see a lot of people condemning, but I cannot shake the feeling that most would swap places with Hegseth, Rubio, Vance or even Trump, if it meant the money and the power would be theirs also.
I’m happy with what I have and would not swap. Many of my family, colleagues and acquaintances - I’m not sure about…
Well if I ruled the world (or America at least) they’d be getting free healthcare and education, and foreign policy would be based around mutual interest. I suppose what you are saying is that many people just want to be in that position because they want private jets, yachts and endless underage rape parties. I suspect some are, but I doubt it’s a majority.
Yes. I would maybe go one step further and say they some would even look the other way to the horridness they were facilitating or carrying out.
Sure. But I wouldn’t be evil.
Money and power don’t necessarily need to change people or make them turn evil.
I might take bribes , earn money etc etc. But I wouldn’t be a war criminal and mass murderer.
And yes , I wouldn’t like to be Trump. As in look like him.
All politicians are corrupt.
Some are good people who happen to be corrupt.
Some are pragmatic people who happen to be corrupt.
And then there are cretin like the current set.
I wouldn’t mind the fringe benefits that come with being a politician. As long as they don’t compromise with basic human ethics.
And the most anger w.r.t American people are the ones who didn’t even bother to turn up and vote.
